How many guests will be going? Right now we’re sitting at 34, with 16 sitting on the fence, they still have a few more months before I chase them down. (We’re getting legally married in July but the DW will be in November.)

How many days are they staying? Guests will be there for 7 days. The wedding is on the 4th day.

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? FI and I will be there for the honey moon, making our stay 2 weeks.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? At first I was, there was very little reviews for weddings, but FI and I had been to the resort before, so we’re trustng it to be as good if not better than our first visit. I spoke to one Mother of a bride who got married at the same resort and she said the cake was beyond amazing.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? We’re not bringing much of anything, decor will all be take care of by the resort, so the dress with me on the plane with me!

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan…. – Beach Ceremony, and then a garden reception, there will be dinner, dancing and fireworks to end off the night!

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about? I’m most worried about Guests figuring out their travel and placing the deposits, we already passed our “deposit Due date” Which means no more rooms are being held for us, these extra guests keep taking their time and the resort might sell out and they’ll have no where to stay!! I could care less about, what guests will wear (which apprently is weird because guests keep asking me what they should be wearing.) The Invite clearly states beach, casual.

Cmsatx2014:

How many guests will be going? 17 + 6 of us = 23 (not sure there will be that many of us though)

How many days are they staying? We are going two days ahead of time, the guests can come when they like.

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? We will leave two days after to head to Charleston, SC for a cruise.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? We are going to a restaurant, not really. No cake at this point.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? No flights, driving the 8 hours. So it will all go in my SUV.

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan…. Reception when we return home. Brunch/lunch after the ceremony

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about? How we will pull it all together in such a short time.

I could not care less about little details and whether or not it will all be perfect. I just want to be married.

not sure if you’re also wondering for domestic destination weddings, but here’s ours just in case:

Where is it? Sonoma, CA

How many guests will be going?  95-110

How many days are they staying?  varies from 2-8

Staying there for the honeymoon or moving on?  we’re doing 2 days after the wedding there, but not doing our honeymoon until a few months later.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? we did taste the food and the cake – both delicious (visited for tastings at 4 mos out)

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? mix- some stuff is being delivered out there and I’m taking some stuff on plane with me.  we’re mostly trying to not diy tons so there’s less to transport.

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan….  full dinner & dancing reception w/dj

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about? I’m not too worried (but maybe I should be) because most of the hard part seems over.  we have a planner & everything’s almost fully paid for.

How many guests will be going? not sure how many will RSVP, but based on ones who have already confirmed after save the dates went out hopefully at least 40

How many days are they staying? Close family will be there for a week, we have some events planned for two days before and the morning after the wedding.  I know some guests will be leaving the next afternoon

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? No honeymoon, we will be there for a week and it will be the only vacation we get.  My mom offered us a night in a posh hotel in the area but I didn’t think it was worth the money.  We will probably have a one year anniversary trip instead

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? We spent a few days in the area in March to get everything we could done.  We had a tasting with the caterer but it was only a few appetizers and none of the ones we picked, they were still amazing and the food is what I look forward to the most.  We also had a cake tasting where we got to sample one of the flavours we picked but the others we will have not tasted.  Again, everything she provided for the tasting was amazing so I’m not worried

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? I will be driving 12 hours to the location

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan…. full reception with cocktail hour, buffet dinner, and dancing.  The area has a sound ordinance and all music must be off by 10.  For some reason this doesn’t cover bars so we will head over there after we have to vacate the venue

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about?  I’m worried for FI because most of his family is not going to be able to come.  He is from the Midwest and I’m Canadian, so we picked Florida as our destination to make it fair for everyone travelling.  He is a bit dissapointed but I think he will still have a good time.  Our venue has an amazing co-ordinator, so I’m pretty carefree about everything else!

How many guests will be going? We have about 75 on the guest list, expecting a decent turnout of 50-60

How many days are they staying? We’re getting married on Lake Orta, Northern Italy and there are daily flights from the UK so we have guests planning in staying 2,3,4 or 5 nights. Our family and friends love travelling as much as we do so many of our guests are planning on extending their stay with a few nights in places like Rome or Venice. We will be there for a week (excluding travelling time there and back)

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? We consider this to be a ‘minimoon’. We are very lucky to be able to have a separate honeymoon about 3 months after the wedding.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? I have been doing so much research online and we have just booked an unexpected last minute trip to Lake Orta for a few nights this July which will give us a chance to visit the restaurant we have booked and choose our menu – I’m so excited about this as I really didn’t think it would be possible! We have decided not to have a cake and will be having a substantial dessert buffet instead.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? Neither, we are going by car. We’ll be getting the ferry from the UK to Holland then driving down through Germany, Switzerland and eventually Northern Italy. it’ll add a few days to the beginning and end of our holiday but we’re so excited for the ‘road trip’ (we have a ‘convoy’ going over) and it means we can take everything over in the car!

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan…. After our ceremony, our guests will be going on a boat trip round the lake while FI get some photographs taken together, we will then all meet at a lakeside restaurant for prosecco and hors d’ouvres before a 4 course plated meal and toasts etc. We have booked a live band for the evening.

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about? Number 1) I hope I love it as much as I think I will when we visit next month! Other than that, we are putting a lot of trust in the planner and vendors and most communications will be online so I guess I’m just concerned about all the elements coming together on the day. I couldn’t care less about most of the normal wedding day traditions like cake, speeches, first dances etc…

Cmsatx2014:  The Bahamas. We have been before, but we are going more for the time alone than a new experience. We will save that for a family vacation.

How many guests will be going?

We have 75 on the invite list, but are guesstimating about 35-45 will make the trip to Cuba.

How many days are they staying?

7 days, it’s at an all-inclusive resort

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on?

We’re hoping we may be able to tack an extra 2 or 3 days on after our guests leave, but we may also travel to Havana for a couple nights or do a different resort. We have some time to decide that though!

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake?

A bit, but the important part to me is that we are getting married on the beach, with the ocean beside us and everything that follows is just icing on the cake.  A lot of Cuban hotels get a bad wrap on the food, but I hear great things about the food at this particular resort. So I’m not too concerned.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination?

Trying to minimize the amount of decor and stuff. The resort provides a lot, so there shouldn’t be too much of an issue. The only thing I’m considering is possibly getting real touch flowers for the bridesmaids and doing a brooch bouquet for myself. So packing anything in our suitcases.

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan….

Dinner, followed by dancing/speeches, etc in the restaurant. It’ll basically be a big ol reception and it could continue later on in the disco or one of the resort bars.

What are you most worried about and what could you care less about?

Most worried about how my fiance will be on the plane. This is his first time EVER flying. LOL. Just worried about the little details like what colour flowers they might actually have when we arrive that week if I decide to have the resort handle the flowers, but I know at the end of the day it won’t matter as long as we’re married. I could care less about worrying too much! Haha, that sort of contradicts what I was saying before. But we wanted a casual destination beach wedding so we don’t have to stress too much over the little things. Just be immersed in the happiness of the day.
