So I just received my wedding photos on a dvd. Although MOST are of decent quality, I only received 211 photos. I didnt even get all of the shots I wanted... What is the average amount of photos you receive? Was I just assuming I would get more for $800 and 6 hours? I feel like she missed so much! There were lots of people missing and I only had a guest list of 51!!!!  I am so upset and wondering if I am abe to ask her what happened? Did some not download onto the dvd lol I mean she originally said unlimited photos for 6 hours and would then burn a dvd for me... well I mean seriously 211?!?!?

What is the typical amount to receive?

Well in 6 hours I'd imagine she would have taken a lot more than that, and if she knows what she's doing then a lot of them should be useable. I'd def ask for the rest, jsut explain you seem to be missing a lot of guests in them. God knows with such a small wedding, surely everyone was in front of the camera a couple times at least.

I feel slightly the same way about mine! I know he was there for certain parts of the night taking photos, but he didn't even give me the pictures of like the bouquet toss and stuff that I know he was there for. I mean, if they turned out badly I still want the pictures since they're all I have of it. I'm planning on e-mailing him and asking him for them.

Oh man, that's not cool!  I hope you still have a bunch of great shots though!  I don't know what the average is, but in 6 hours she had to of taken more than that.  I'd most definitely ask her what happened, and I'd voice my discontent.  It might not make much of a difference, but it's you're right to do so.

I can take 200 pictures in an hour!!! LOL I think I will email her too! Even if she has not so good ones I would like to have them. I am so happy we are in a digital world and my family and friends have some pictures

I agree with a lot said here. Sounds not cool at all. I think asking for other "raw" pictures would be aq good way to go.

I am learning photography, and trust me, with the cameras that we have nowadays you can take a lot of pictures. Not all of them are going to be purfect. I am like a lot of people - give me the ones that are blury :) i want them!!! I am not going to print them and put them into frames, but just for the sake of memory.

I think if you go to her and ask for the left over pics - she should give them to you. In your contract with the photographer did you "purchase"/agree on you having rights to your picures? Like are you getting a CD with "all" the pictures?

My photographer will be there for 12 hours.  She said that sometimes she takes 3000 photos.  I get all of them, so I'm excited....

Two hundred?  Sounds like maybe they just picked out what they felt were the best ones and gave those to you?

Maybe those are the edited ones?  I am getting a cd with all the edited photos, then another with all the unedited ones...

That's terrible.. I'm sorry.  I know I would be crushed.. photos are super important to me.

I agree that definitely sucks, but she probably went through and gave you the quality ones - meaning not blurry, leaving out pics that look bad of someone, etc.  Still getting only 200 pics isn't that many...

i would definitely email your photog and ask for more. we just shot our 3-4 hour engagement session and received 147 PROOFS... and that's JUST the ones that they liked and touched up, we know there were HUNDREDS more.

it makes NO sense that there were only 211 of your wedding day.

I have seen many ads online for photo shoots and the average seems to be between 300 and 400 shots for a 5 - 7 hour shoot -- My photographer says a minimum of 350
