Ew, what? Where do they do their bikini waxes then? I would find a new salon.
oh honey, ive been going thru that for years unfortuantely...it happens, but i would much rather get waxed than live with a stache lol
after a while you never notice it anymore ;)
and i DO NOT go to the salons that do it out in the middle of everything...the girl who cuts my hair does it....the back of the shop lol
SO many ppl do it, you'd be surprised
Yeah, i would be embarrassed too lol Sometimes I even get shy asking for a lip wax lol
I guess Im just silly, but it does seem really private to me too.
i dont think i will do my waxing in front of people. i cried like a little baby when ever they do my waxing. im use to it but it still hurts lol
I think the pedicure guy must have been more embarrassed by you!!
I do everything I can at home, although I must say, Brazilian bikini laser treatments were pretty embarrassing at first!
At home I use the Sally Hansen lip waxing strips. You just warm them by rubbing them through your hands, honestly they work just as well as paying to get it done and a whole box is only around $10 and I started doing my own lip around 6 months ago and haven't had to buy a new box yet!
Don't be too embarrassed, although I have to say I am thankful my stylist works solo after hearing about this ;)
I'm with KansasPrincess11- I've used the Sally Hansen wax strips for years and they've been great.
I scout out places before I go. Our mall here does threading in the middle of the dang mall. No go. I go to another place about 30 minutes away. Yes, it's embarrassing and private no doubt!
Maybe I should try those strips- I usually use the Nair facial cream but it doesn't last nearly as long as a wax does.
This thread made me realize I need a wax...upstairs to my "salon" I go! ;)
Eww! I would definitely find a new salon with more discreet waxing facilities!
I use the Sally Hansen strips about every 6 weeks. They work well, just make sure you shower before you use them, rub them together really well, hold them on the face for 15 seconds, and then use the blue oil that it comes with afterwards. You can dry your skin out if you don't and it'll look red and scaly (learned the hard way, embarrassing for two days).
that would be sooo akward!!! That just reminded me I need to do my upper lip lol!! My FI reminds me every now and then by sayin, UH you need to get that LOL! I use Sally Henson facial hair removal cream it works!!
I go to get threaded in the middle of the mall (well its really tucked away in a lonely corner)LOL I really don't care it takes about 5 min and im outa there its fast, super convenient since I usually do it when im shopping and cheap. Plus I really don't know too many threading salons in the city since everyone usually does waxing and people consider threading to not be sanitary.
I use Sally Hansen's hot wax (it's a purple bottle). You have to put it in the microwave before you use it, but it's $8, I've been using the hot wax for more than a year! I have to buy more strips from time to time, but I just head to Ulta to buy strips for $3 or so for a bunch of them.
I'll do eye brows infront of people and I draw the line at that! Even that I prefer the private room where you can just lie down and relax...
sorry you went through that!
I wax myself. I dont even like my partner seeing me do it LOL
I also use the Sally Hansen strips and they're super easy. Overall, I'm happy with them and you can do it discretely in the privacy of your own bathroom!
@ mallorynjmf - I get the same comments from my FI LOL ... I'm picking up these strips tomorrow!
Good to know about the strips at ulta too :)
How often do you girls wax?? I try not to do it so often because I want to avoid wrinkles...so I try to tweeze until I HAVE to wax
bahaha that sucks. i'm shy though so i'd be embarrassed to get 'stache waxed by anyone else anyway. i use the microwave wax at home. easy peasy and super cheap. plus you don't even have to leave the house. i used those strips where you warm them with your hands when i lived in china and didn't have a microwave. thank god for forward thinking, i would have been a beast without them!

I just HAD to share- I just went to do some waxing since I'm doing my consultation this weekend to find out (after I signed in) that this salon does their waxing RIGHT DEAD CENTER of the nail salon...REALLY?? and I wasn't alone...A girl that I played volleyball with my freshman year in college just happen to be there...yea nice catching up. Maybe I'm the only one that finds this a little embarrassing and 'private'. AND may I add..I must have been less than 3 feet away from some guy having a pedicure...
Any other Bees have any embarrassing waxing or beauty experiences??
