@abbie017: ooh i'll happily add you! i'm mathewsbambina on there :)
Great job!! I'm on MFP (although I fell off the face of the Earth for 2 weeks while I was sick) but now I'm back into gear with a month left until my wedding. I'm NDBee on there as well if you'd like another pal :-) Keep up that great work!!
@NDBee: thanks! i'll add you too! love having more people help support (and to support back!)
I'm on there too (username is Lyndzo). I've just gone back again, but this time just to make more friends and have support. I'm eating healthy and exercising but not tracking my food, I found it to be too much. Add me! :)
@vintagemodernbride: Wowza, you're quick! LOL. I think it'll be a lot easier now that I got an iPhone...how freaking cool is it that I can just can the barcode of most things?! Love it!
ETA- another great, free app to download is fooducate. I LOVE it for grocery shopping. You can scan the barcode of many items and it'll pop up with a little cheat sheet re: that food and give it a grade (A-F). Really saves time when debating which cereal to buy of your 2 favorites, haha.
@NDBee: haha yeah well i was just on my computer so i was like "better add so i don't forget!" the app really is awesome though. it helps so much when i'm trying to make a meal instead of searching for every single item. i'll have to check out fooducate. that sounds awesome! thanks for the tip.
@lyndzo: definitely will add you!
@missAsB and @ pitbullover: thank you so much :)
I LOVE My Fitness Pal. I have been on it for a little over three weeks now. I haven't lost much weight (prob between 2-3 pounds) but I can already feel things tightening up around my middle.
Really, it was such an eye opener how much a cracker here, a piece of candy there adds up. I always considered myself a pretty healthy eater but the first day that I logged everything, I was SHOCKED by how much sugar I ate. (In my defense, MFP treats all sugar grams as equal which I don't quite agree with, but it's still a good guide). A big apple is like 20 g of sugar, and I only get 24 a day (it is a rare day I am not over my sugar grams). Anyways, I was eating way too many carbs and sugar and not enough fat which I think was counter productive.
Do you guys try to follow the pie chart guidelines? Mine says my daily intake should be 55% carbs, 15% protein, and 30% fat. Does that seem weird to anyone else? My friend went to a nutritionist and he advised 33% for everything. Maybe that is more for people who work out hardcore? Anyways, 30-33% seems like a lot of fat. I am nowhere close to that unless I eat like, KFC or McDonalds which is of course not the right kind of fat. Maybe that's why I've been having some troubles losing weight.
I had a baby 5 months ago and am within 2 pounds of my pre pregnancy weight but I'd like to lose another 10 pounds on top of that.

DH and I have been married a little over 2 months, and I've been trying to get back into healthy eating and working out for the past month (and a few days). I've been using Myfitnesspal.com (I love their iPhone app) to track what I eat and how much I work out, and I am SO excited to say as of today I've lost 10.7 pounds!
I'm trying to lose weight the healthy way (they say losing more than 2 lbs/week is not good as it's muscle and not fat) and not view this as a "diet" but eating better. I still have about 50 lbs to go, but I'm glad I'm past the 10 pound mark! my
Anyone else on here using myfitnesspal?
