I will apologize now for this being so long but I had to tell someone and its too late to call/text anyone I know! Last night when my SO came home from work I asked him if we could go to the mall today to look at some rings my best friend and I has looked at and to possibly return a London Blue Topaz ring I purchased at a great discount but don’t really need. He actually agreed… and there was no grumble or sigh like usually…. which sort of through me for a loop. Anyway, we went into JC Penny and I found a Swarovski Zirconia engagement ring set that I loved and was approx $125. I was astonished and so was he. He was ready to buy it on the spot but I told him to wait because I wanted to do my “research” which he proceeded to make fun of me for but agreed that it was a good idea.
So off to Sears we went, and after a while we found a small solitaire that will be on sale for less than $1000 on a Sunday night special. He later asked if this was the ring I wanted and I told him that I would rather him spend the money on something that we both liked than just buy something because its on sale and in the price range. So we checked out Macy’s and they also have the Swarovski Zirconia rings. But I found one (not a set) that I fell in LOVE with for less than $400. Now I was starting to really consider looking into the Swarovski Zirconia on my phone to see what it was all about but I wanted to keep shopping.
We looked in Kay’s and J.B. Robinson’s and we didn’t find anything super special that we loved that was within the price range we are looking for. So we finished our errands and went home. But silly me forgot my Kohl’s returns so we went out after dinner. I though I would just look but he met up with one of the girls he knows who is an EMT and they got to talking. So I decided that I would mosey over to the engagement rings only to discover that the bridal jewelry was 65% off this week (or this sale or what ever, you all know how Kohl’s sales are so strange sometimes) and they were offering an additional 10% off and an additional 20% off if you open a Kohl’s charge. We looked at a few things and then we found IT. It is only 5/8 tcs but it has a diamond double shank and a round center with a double halo. Its more fancy that i would have picked out online but when I put it on I got goosebumps. And it was the only thing he really said Wow I really like that to…. which also may have contributed to the chills. My heart is racing right now and I can’t believe that he was considering buying it. He even nonchalantly mentioned that he was going to talk to his mom about it (which he has always said she would be the one he take to pick out the ring).
I am so excited right now but I also don’t want him to go out and spend money just because it was the one we both loved. I honestly think I would be happy with a cubic zirconia off the rack at walmart right now because he makes me so happy. But we want to get something that will last and if we ever decide we want to upgrade to something larger we can always do that for an anniversary in the future. Sorry again that this is so long but I had to share it with someone! I am trying not to get my hopes up too high because I know we were “just looking” but his talking just makes me cross my fingers and toes and everything else!
Here is the stock photo. What do you all think?!
