aw that's so cute you're so excited to see your sister!! I'm very close with mine too and I definitely act like her older sister (or mother) but she's only 15 months younger than me. She's in Mexico right now and I miss talking to her every day!! Have so much fun!!!
That is great! I'm excited for you! Enjoy every moment you can with her!
It's funny with us because technically we're half sisters, grew up in different households, 5 years apart, and we're as clsoe as two sisters who grew up together in the same house.
She also planned my bach. party across the country. I can't even imagine how she did it.
Sister Pudding is currently visiting me too, and I love it! I don't get to see her that much because she is in Toronto and I now live in Vermont, so when we do get to spend time together it's a total love fest! And I know what you mean about the "little sister, big sister" dynamic - it really changes once you're both adults! Sister P and I didn't have much in common when I was 18 and she was 14, but now that we are both older, she really is my best friend :)
If only there was an awesome song...crap, I just remembered this sister poem which I loved. I wonder if I can find it by itself to give to her for being my Maid of Honor.
That is exciting! :) I'm lucky because my sister lives nearby. I actually used the quote from the end of bridewars when I asked her to be my made of honor. Its a really good one.
Aw, that's so sweet! I'm glad you'll have all that time to catch up and bond before the wedding.
Maybe, for Sister Night, we'll kick McGroom out and watch girlie movies like Bride Wars. Thanks for the idea.
YAY!!! So exciting :) I have a yonger sister too (10 yrs!) but she's my baby.. I hope we can be "close" like you two are when she gets a little older.
@gocubbies: The thing that made us really close is when I learned that, while she's my younger sister, I can't treat her that way, especially when she hit her 20's. Instead, I started treating her as my friend and it was really hard because I just wanted the best for her. I'd even ask her if I was doing better and to tell me when I wasn't. It really worked. Now we get advice from each other and it's wonderful.
That's awesome! I am glad that you are getting to spend some quality time with your fam. :)

Yeah, I just wrote that. My sister flies in today and I can't think about anything else. She lives across the country and we haven't seen each other in over a year. It's going to be great to have a female excited about my wedding and ready to do anything to help me. More than that, I just can't wait to see her. I miss her so much, I could cry. We've grown so close now that I've stopped being her older sister and just been her sister. We call each other for advice all the time, usually the first person we call for advice. I love it! Oh, I'm going to cry with excitement!
