I swear this is the last time I’m going to be pregnant, I promise 😉
It all started Monday, I think that’s when I posted about how many BH’s I was having. Well they continued through Tuesday, a little more frequent but no pattern, then through Wednesday and then became timeable. 2 minutes apart and lasting 1.5-2 minutes. We called and my Dr. was on-call and wanted us at L&D pronto. That little trip lasted until Saturday afternoon, and I’m.Still.Contracting.
While I was there my cervix was checked a good 6 times, I got a shot of terbutaline and then 3 red blood pressure pills (both to try and stop the contractions) neither worked. Next up Magnesium Sulfate aka pure hell. They hooked me up to an IV Thusday with fluid and the “mag bag” minutes before that a steroid shot to the @ss, to be repeated in 24 hours. Again there was talk of being transported to a hospital with a better NICU, mine will deliver 35 weekers minimum. I was stuck to the mag bag for 48 hours, the steroid shot HURT!!! It was all an effort to slow down the contractions so that the steroid shot could take effect on her lungs.
Saturday morning they unhooked me 🙂 and realized that these contractions aren’t going to go away. I was sent home at 2pm on strict bedrest. No more working for me 🙁
I can tell you that it’s the hardest thing in the world, and I’ve tested whether it works lol! I’m being checked every other day, so I’ve taken it easy and not done anything (no change) and I’ve gone shopping all day (no change). I’m sitting more while I’m at work then I am at home, I guess my Dr. doesn’t believe me. The encouraging news is that my cervix has gone back to normal, Wednesday it was soft and a fingertip dialated. He’s perplexed and so am I. I’d love to know how to make these stop, they’re killing me, exhausting me, and irritating the crap out of me and everyone around me 😉 3 more weeks and I can safely deliver her at my hospital, there’s a full moon this weekend too…
Sorry this is so long, and 1/2 venting!
