SO Fustrated at myself.. Rant and Help Please :(

I am not in a similar position, but I can say that exercise is a lot easier than it probably seems! Just start with walking! Then throw in some jogging- even just 1 minute at a time and you will be able to increase it fairly quickly. Do some googling about couch to 5K plans. Grab a set of 5 pound weights at Target and look up some free weight exercises (bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, etc). You can even do a lot without weights (push-ups, squats, etc). If you want more, join a gym and go to classes, they’ll show you how to do everything. I would just say don’t do too much too fast if you want to maintain it. If you’re starting from scratch, maybe begin with like 3 times a week for a half hour and build up from there. Just get your booty out there and do it

110-115 is pretty low for 5’5. My suspicion is that you’re “skinny fat” – weight wise you’re OK but you’re not really toned. Resistance training is the way to go – weights and body weight exercises will help you tone up which will make you look and feel heaps better. I feel like measurements (waist, hips, thighs) is much more indicative than weight – you can lose inches without losing weight as you build muscle. I’m a good five pounds heavier than I was six months ago but I’m actually smaller. Look up a fantastic app called ‘You are your own gym’ which will help you tone up without any expensive equipment – just your own body weight.

lozzle22:  I’m 5’4″ and I”m a pear/bottom heavy hourglass depending on how much I weigh.  At 105 I looked AWFUL (which is what a doctor told me i SHOULD weigh) because of my weight distribtution I just looked ill – no matter how small I am, the hips and boobs are still there.  I look and feel my best around 135-140.  Right now I’m about 30 over that and I’d like to get down.  I’m also ‘skinny fat’.  In clothes, dressed the right way, I look fan-freaking-tastic.  You would never know that I’m heavy.  BUT put me in a bathing suit or something that doesn’t fit right and I’m a flabby gross blob.

Cardio and weights are going to be your friends.  You want to firm up, tone up, you may not actually need to lose weight, just a few inches perhaps 🙂
