(meant to post this here, but accidentally posted in beehive)
I am so happy – I bought my dress today. After a search filled with highs and lows, I ordered the Allure W264, and I could not be happier. As a plus sized bride, I thought I’d have to settle for something that I did not love, but I am completely simitten with my dress. The sample size is a bit too small for me, but you’ll get the idea. I’ll also remove the train, since we won’t have a church wedding. This would give me the option to add straps. Which look do you like better – straps or no straps?

I vote no straps, get a big statement necklace. You look beautiful!

Looks great! I also vote NO straps 🙂

Holy smokes your figure looks GREAT in that dress! Can’t wait to see it fitted on you!
I vote no straps! And I second the idea of a big necklace! Congrats on finding your dress!

I would vote NO straps. Your dress is beyond beautiful and you look AMAZING in it. Congrats on finding ‘the one’. Gorgeous.

Thanks guys!! I really like the dress, and feel gorgeous in it. I am also leaning toward no straps.
I was wondering, though, does this look too light to be ivory – the sample was allegedly ivory, and that’s what I ordered, but the more I look at it, the more surprised I am that that’s what the designer would call ivory, looks pretty white to me. Anyone with experience in Allure gowns?

I don’t like the straps… they distract from the dress.
The straps look white, the dress doesn’t… so it probably is ivory.

@mishagirls79: Agreed. No straps, statement necklace.

Hehe, I don’t know what color the straps were, it was just something that was kind of there.
I can’t wait to shop for accessories for this dress, necklace, earrings, and a hair piece. I am pretty strongly leaning in the direction of no veil.

No straps, I love how that fits on you!

Add me to the “no straps, statement necklace” list.
DAT WAIST. Va-voom!!!

@helena31: That is a great dress, simple, but with pretty interesting bits. And it does great things for your figure.
I don’t like the straps in the photo. I’m not sure that Id veto straps entirely, just those straps.

Yeah I too did not like those particular straps, but was intrigued with the idea to add some kind of straps. I even toyed around with idea of adding some bling to the straps, but I think that would be too much and would actually detract from the beautiful modified sweetheart neckline.

Your dress has all that beautiful beading on the top and adding straps seems to detract from that. So, I vote no straps. Your dress is stunning, by the way.
