My SO had to have an ultrasound late last year, and a Bakers Cyst was discovered on the back of his knee – this wasn’t an issue, he didn’t know it was there and it caused him no problems. Yesterday he had another ultrasound as it has grown and is painful. The doctor called last night and said that it has tripled in size very quickly, which is ‘alarming’ and the doctor will be making an appointment for him to see an orthopaedic surgeon ASAP.
I’m so worried. What if it’s more than a cyst? I’m trying to put on a brave face for my SO – saying that it growing wasn’t something he didn’t already know, and it’s good the doctor is making the appointment for him, means he won’t have to wait as long for an appointment than if we booked it…but I’m so scared. I don’t want to scare him be me freaking out.
Has anyone been through something similar? Any words of advice for me?
