And my boyfriend even helped me! He is totally on board the Christmas crazy train. I usually wait until the week before Thanksgiving (which I know for some of you, is bordering on insanity even THAT early) but my parents gave us their old tree which was hella expensive and crazy gorgeous. Its been sitting on our dining room floor in the box and I just couldn't help it! I was home sick from work today and I totally put that sucker up.

In other news, we also carved Pumpkins today. My boyfriend was like "It's every holiday at once in our house right now!!!"

    <3 him!

I've been yearning to listen to my Christmas music lately (it doesn't help that I live in Massachusetts and we've already gotten a couple of snow storms!!).

However, because I am adamant about having a LIVE tree and not a FAKE tree, we won't be putting ours up until after Thanksgiving.

We went to a winery & orchard this weekend and saw their Christmas tree forest. Can't wait till the Fall is closer to being over so we can go chop down our FIRST REAL CHRISTMAS TREE!!! I'm so excited. (:

I have been stalking QVC for Christmas decor.  I love Christmas and it's definitely my favorite time of year.

Oh my goodness, you crack me up. I have a fake tree too (allergies, baby! heck i even had fake flowers at my wedding!) and it goes up after thanksgiving. Not this year. I think this year we'll be at Kmart at 530am buying us a spiffy new tree. I might try to find a used one on craigslist though.

ahh!  it's too soon for christmas.  maybe that's just because i now live in SoCal and it's still in the 70's.  Definitely doesn't feel like Christmas weather.

@Latte-- I LIVE IN TEXAS. It was in the 70's here too, lol I am just a crazy Christmas lady.

And I love a real tree too, but I always worry about the fire hazard, because we live in a condo and often leave the house for the holidays.

I so want to put my tree up but my FI doesnt want Christmas music till Thanksgiving day.  Gah!! hehe... little does he know i sing the songs all day long...

I love Christmas so I feel bad for him when we are married and he sees the bill our first christmas after i buy decorations.  We both live at our parents right now so we kinda gotta start from scratch.

I'm so jealous! I've been listening to Christmas music for a few weeks. :)  I want to put our tree up but my boyfriend thinks we should wait until the day after Thanksgiving.  I'm already being annoying and asking him what he wants like every 10 minutes. haha.  I think I might just put the tree up when he goes out for a guys night or something. :)

I asked my fiance if we could put up the tree soon, and he looked at me like I was crazy and kidding around!  I had to go into the technical aspects... If we wait until after Thanksgiving, we only have x amount of weeks to enjoy it... Last year we put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving and I felt like I barely had anytime to enjoy it.

Needless to say, I probably won't be able to put up the tree until after Thanksgiving. :(

Confession: My Christmas decorations are still up from last year!!! We've got multi-colored strings of Xmas lights hanging (fair enough- it's dorm room decor at least...) and we have a lazy decorating tradition of just putting squares of wrapping paper on the wall. Last year we put the paper in picture frames, and we never got around to changing it out for photos. No tree yet, though :)

LOL!  That is too funny!  I'm hoping to get a tree up this year (we got really crazy busy last year and never got the time to).  I even bought post-Christmas ornaments and decorations earlier this year (gotta love those sales!), so I need a tree to use them on!

I would just like to add that this really reminds me exactly why I love my boyfriend and want to marry him.

He was so cool with my Christmas insanity. Our conversation went like this:

Me: So.... we could put up the tree. But its not even Halloween. No. It's too early. It's weird. We can't put it up yet.

Him: Do you want to put it up?

    Me:.... um.... yes?

Him: Well get to it! I think we can do whatever we want. Where are the lights?! I'll help!

Me: (Joking) We should put up the outdoor lights too! Just so our neighbors can join in the crazy!

Him: Aw, baby. I can't today. I have to go get you some light clips.

Me: I was kidding about the outdoor lights. But you are badass.

LOL LOVE IT! I want to put ours up SO BAD but my roommate (sis) won't let me--she believes we should take time for each of the holidays. So our mantle has a big painting of a fall leaf, some squash... there's acorns and apple candles and pumpkins and flowers.

I can't wait for christmas though! We're putting it up two weeks before thanksgiving!

Lol I'm impressed you put up a tree period! I don't spend Christmas here, so I tend to not put up a tree at all cause I'm lazy like that. I might put stockings over the fireplace, though :)

lol, my mom wouldn't let us even talk about Christmas until after Thanksgiving! It was so weird last year when SO got me up at like 8am on a Saturday before Thanksgiving, saying he wanted to go get a tree.

Speaking of trees, does anyone have an issue with their dog and the tree? Last year we just bought a bunch of ornaments from Wal-Mart and stuff because we didn't really want to spend much and it's a good thing we didn't! Our dog ate every ornament she could reach and some of the branches too. Any ideas on how to fix this? I suggested getting a spray bottle and squirting her with water if we caught her but he doesn't think this would be a good deterrant.

I get so mad when the stores have christmas stuff up before thanksgiving (or even halloween this year!).  The only holidays where this is acceptable IMHO is when there is candy involved...ie Halloween and Easter and Vday

AAAWWW - LOVE IT!!!  I love Christmas.  I wait for it all year.  As soon as it's over, I want another one.  It's one of the few times that my massive family can actually be ALL together.  Plus...my birthday is a few days after.  Double presents!!

    I love your tree!

Thanksgiving in my family is huge.  Lots of relatives stay with me, but they usually the Saturday afternoon after Thanksgiving.  As soon as they leave, I bust out the Christmas decorations and go to town.

Secretly, I'm a little concerned because FI moves in the Saturday after Thanksgiving which puts a dent in my Christmas decorating schedule.  Clearly, I'll be helping FI, but I will be a little sad I'm not decorating my tree while watching Love Actually.

Um, we're 10 days from moving into our house, so no putting up of trees (or even carving pumpkins since we're moving in on Halloween!), but I've totally already been strategizing for how to put up lights outside for Christmas! We won't have any landscaping until the spring, so it'll have to be all on the house... booo.

I can't decide between white lights swagged across the proch, or bigger colored bulbs outlinging the porch. What do you think:

(Ps- the house will be painted yellow).

Also: who want's the Christmas light machine gun that the crazy lady has on "The Grinch that Stole Christmas"? ME!

Edited to add: Where do I put the mistle-toe!?
