    This is a model:

    front: http://fashionbride.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/portal_b1.jpg

    back: http://blog.webboda.es/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/vestido-de-novia-coleccion-2009-san-patrick-modelo-portal_c.jpg

It needs some alterations, mostly needs to be smaller in the bust, and needs to be a bit shorter. But my only big issue is, I don't like the train. I feel it is strange....looks like a cape or something. I feel like I want to remove it or do something to it, but I"m not sure.

oh my god, that dress is gorgeous. I love the train and I am not a train lover. I like hows it's twisted at the top and then opens up. Good pick!

unfortunately, it wasn't 250...it was 500. For me that'a  lot...I'm hoping to have my wedding at 5,000. lol...let's see if that happens!

do you think I should get the train altered? would it cost a lot?

by the way, I think the dress looks nicer in person than in the photos. the fabric is cool!

It looks beautiful on you! Congrats! Maybe you can have the train long for the ceremony and then have it bustled for the reception.

That is so pretty!  I love the fabric, looks so romantic :)

I actually like the train, but wonder what would happen when you try to bustle it...

I dont know...its odd! The train is not part of the skirt, its like attached to the mid back of the dress. I could live with it, but I would prefer to do something else with it!

I am super excited though that my dress seemst to be pristine! I'll take a better look at it tomorrow, but there seems to be no rips, and no dirt on it whatsoever! I don't think many people tried it on.

Gorgeous dress!  It looks great on you!  I think the train is very pretty.  I don't get the cape effect at all.  Congratulations!

Wow, what a deal! $500 may be a lot, but it's a fantastic price for such a stunning gown!

I second the vote for long train for the ceremony then bustled for the reception. I'm not into trains, but this one looks beautiful, and it would be a shame to chop it off entirely.

do you all think the dress is much for a small wedding. Personally I know its not poofy or anything, but I'm scared about the fact that it has a train. I'm having a small Catholic wedding in a church, followed by a dinner (no actual recepton) with just immediate family in a nice restaurant.

I think the dress is fine for the church, but maybe a bit much for a restaurant?

Very nice. You look beautiful in it.

If you don't like the idea of the train, maybe you could have it taken off and made into a veil and/or a jacket/bolero and/or matching purse and/or a wrap for your bouquet.

Congratulations! Your dress is gorgeous as is. I actually really like the train. But you should make it what you want it to be for your big day. I don't think it would be too much for your reception. Just be sure to bustle the train up so you don't have anything trailing and you should be good :)

I actually looked at it closer, and it looks EXTREMELY easy to remove the train. Like I could seriously do it no problem. But I'm contemplating on whether to do it or not!

I'm so happy!!!!!! Love my dress :)

Beautiful dress!! I personally love the back, but you should change it if you don't like it! You don't want to dislike part of your wedding dress!

I love your dress! It's beautiful and I think the train is beautiful, too. I wouldn't get rid of it. And I don't think it's too much for a small wedding and reception at a restaurant. Just bustle it up and I think it will be perfect!

It looks great! If you're not sure about the train, talk to a seamstress about different options. I really like it, though!

Gorgeous dress, and what a great price!

My brother-in-law's wife actually had a dress that was very similar, with a train in the back that looked exactly like yours.  She like the train, but only wanted it for the ceremony, so she had it altered so the train could be detached for the reception.

It was done using a few white snap fasteners that were hidden underneath the top layer of the "V" shape in the back.  That might be a good solution for you if you want to keep the train for the ceremony!

I bought the same dress at a Brides Against Breast Cancer event (same price too)Smile. I just took it this weekend to get altered and had them snip that huge train right off. I'm petite and it was just weighing me down..plus my wedding is at a park so it was bit much. They are going to sew the ends where they snipped it to meet at the zipper. I hope it will look right! I also asked them to hem it floor length all the way around, which I'm not totally sure was a good idea considering the look on their faces...What did you choose to do with the hem? Did you leave any train on the dress itself? By the way, I'm a little worried about the top layer because it snags on everything so easily. Have you had any issues with that?
