It did weird me out a little that all my posts were there (I totally checked right after I read your title).  But that’s why my username has nothing to do with my real name, why I don’t put personal details on the site (at least not identifying ones), and why I haven’t really posted identifying or incriminating pictures.

Sure, someone could find it and be like “Oh, Miss OBG is quite the loudmouth, and a bit wild,” but they’ll never know who Miss OBG is.  In fact, the only place I’ve even used this name is on Weddingbee, so no one would ever find it unless they already knew me from the site.

I could only find one link for mine on the front page of the seach, alll the way at the bottom…and if my topics are super sensitive, I would think I would make a fake id, i dunno, haha

people who would be searching me know how crass and honest I am.  If they don’t like it, too bad.

you can also see all your posts if you click on your profile.  i mostly find it useful if i want to see if anyone else commented on a thread.  but then again, I am a really bad exhibitionist.

yes, this honestly ticks me off. I want to be able to use WB to the fullest but I sometimes stop mysellf from posting for this very reason! I have suggested that only people with accounts to be able to see all your posts. They agreed to it but I have no idea on the status. I really wish this would happen asap. UGH…you just got me all reared up about this again. LOL I have really changed my habbits to not post as personal stuff on here because of this.

Wow, That’s interesting…. but I guess such is the way of life on the internet… The weird thing is that I found other folks out there using my username for things! Darn, and I thought I was original! Oh well :/

I would like to add that I am fine with other WB users having access to it but I dont want anyone (non-WB users) to be able to access this stuff.

yup – I was googling something and a picture of my ring popped up in the google search.  I was mortified!!  Luckily it was at the beginning of my WB career, so I’ve been censoring myself ever since then…

I am such private person and this is why I resist the urge to post pics of me in my dress or pics of me and FI, because I dont want anybody who knows me to be able to stumble on this and then read all my posts… It is hard sometimes though I feel really tempted to just share without censoring

I agree with @bestbuddies: in that I dislike that people can google your beename and find everything you’ve posted. It’d be nice if the boards were not ‘google-able’ by bee name.

I know we’ve discussed this somewhere on the WB before, but maybe making a post in the ‘ideas’ section about keeping the boards/beenames from being ‘google-able’ would be something that a lot of bees are interested in.

whoa that is crazy. like I knew weddingbees are “google-able” cause that’s how i found the site, but its weird to actually google myself. google images surprises me because the first several images are all things i posted… thankfully they are all non-personal.
