@Amanda_Rae: Thats so nice!!! It can be SOO tough meeting new friends, espcially in a new town. That is awesome :)
I moved a lot when I was marrid before because my hubby was transferred every year. Make sure you follow up by inviting these couples and/or the women to future social activities. It can be for something as simple as coffe and dessert, but it lets them know that you enjoy their company and are someone they would like to get to know.
How sweet! That is so considerate of him to realize you were feeling lonely and help you meet other women in the area. Couple friends are always great to have too so you can all go out together! =)

Let me start out by saying that my fiance is super outgoing and extremely popular. He was in the military for 8 years and also was a part of a college fraternity and is a free mason. Anyways- when he and I first met, I was still very new to town and did not know many people. Turns out, the few friends I did make, ended up not being friends at all-- but just people who need something new to talk about at the watercooler.
That said, I was feeling a little down last week because my best college girlfriends are 8-10 hours away and my mom and sister are both 6-7 hours away. So this past weekend, he coordinated with 3 different couples to do stuff together. Friday night we went to eat with one couple who are getting married soon, and we were able to swap planning stories and she got me hooked up with a really awesome photographer. Saturday we went to eat with one of his military buddys and his new girlfriend. We have hung out with them several times before and his gf seems to be very nice and we hit it off. Then yesterday we went to the lake all day with one of his frat brothers and his gf, and it was our first meeting so it was a lot of fun.
So I left the weekend with a new photographer, a pedicure date on Wednesday and a new Hobby Lobby shopping buddy! It sounds so small/stupid.. but planning a wedding ( and hello.. a life together!) in a new town can be extremely difficult! It made me just love him all the more for making the plans happen so I would meet other women.
I am sure he also do it so he could see his friends, but the thought behind it was sweet! :)
