Hello Ladies. I'm orginally from So IL and currently live in P'cola. I'm planning my So. IL wedding for 6/7/08, so its coming up quickly. I've had a difficult time finding exactly what I want in So. IL as I'm sure some of you have had as well. I would be happy to share some of my DIYs and various others items that I'm hoping make my wedding something very special.
Hi HeatherB!!! I am stuck somewhere between so.illinois and chicago boards. I'm getting married 10/17/09 in central il. I would love to see some of your DIY's. I am planning to do a lot on my own to save money, and it is a nice touch also!! congrats on your wedding, wow it's really soon huh?!!!
Yes, its totally soon. I'm going with a lemon/lime theme so alot of yellow, lime green, and white.
Its going to be "different" than any other wedding I've been to in So. Il that's for sure. So it shoudl be interesting to see how everyone is going to react.
All our friends are from Chicago or other parts of the country, so to them, its goign to be totally normal.
I'm not trying to have a "trendy" wedding, but a clean, classic wedding with some pops of colors.
Right now I'm working on my table numbers - covered with crystals (yellow and green)I'd be happy to send you some pics.
I'd love to see pics!!! I'm with you...I am trying to have a classic, timeless wedding with a few pops of modern colors.
I like your color scheme, sounds really pretty especially with you having a summer wedding. I'm having a fall wedding and want to stay away from all of the fall cliche's(pumpkins, etc.) I think I might throw in some caramel apples for favors, but that's it. I'm thinking of an almost retro 50's vibe. think old hollywood. that's the best way i can think to put it. I'm going to use mocha, cream, maybe a little gold and a splash of red. I hope it comes out the way i picture it!!!!
Hi all! I live in coastal Georgia, but was born and raised in So. IL (go Salukis!) and looooove STL (go Cards!). Just wanted to stop by and say hi and see if there were any So. IL brides out there. HeatherB -- where are you from originally? I grew up in Carterville.
Hi KNW, I grew up in a little bitty town east of Decatur. That's so cool you live in Georgia. I remeber going on vacation there and falling in love with it!!
KNW - I'm from M'boro, I graduated in 98. Then went to EIU. I'm heading home on Saturday.... 11 days till the wedding, I think I'm in mid breakdown mode right now...
Hi girls! I just thought I'd stop by and say hi. I'm getting married in Central IL (Bloomington) but I figured the Southern IL board might be a little closer fit than the Chicago boards.
Heather, I hope you had a great wedding day yesterday and didn't get any of the bad weather!
For the rest of you, how are the wedding plans going?
Chickadee--Wedding plans are going good. I still have over a year, so I'm not stressing yet. Tried on dresses for the first time last week! so exciting. Haven't found "the one" yet.
For everyone else, how long/how many stores til you found the right dress??
