So we had a beautiful wedding, it was a perfect day and an amazing honeymoon!!
I have posted about my husbands uncles new wife and OMG i really should not be surprized but I am really annoyed…..
She originally RSVPed for way more people then were invited, she wanted to bring her teenaged daughters boyfriends to our wedding, we said HELL NO to that one. So a few days after the wedding i was like wow your uncles wife and those kids never showed up, I was then informed by my husbands grandma that she did show up but left after the ceremony, the wedding upset her, she was sad her husband could not be there. (well he is in jail for a year b/c she put him there and thats a different and crazy story) I was upset that she didnt even say hello to my husband or I, we had no idea she even showed up. No congrats or anything, didnt even leave a card……
Well she brought a present over to my MILs house and she gave us really tacky multi colored funny looking martini glasses, but yay there is a gift recept right?!? OMG the gift recept is to a place that was bought out by another store 7 years ago, and when I looked at the date the recept is dated 2002!!!!! really?!? what a waste, she should have just given us a card, or at least said congrats at the wedding and left it at that….
I know its supposed to be the thought that counts, but really?!? its more of an after thought and they are really tacky, I would rather have not gotten a gift from her at all then to have gotten something i dont like that was bought 10 years ago to a store that is no longer in buissness!!!
Just had to vent, its not just the gift is everything else too i guess, but maybe I will regift them to her for xmas?!……
its got me thinking, what gifts did you get for your wedding that were completly tacky and in left field?
A work friend gave us a ceramic little precious moments plate with a little bride and groom, looks like something an old grandma would put up, it was funny made us laugh, and while it was very tacky looking and we would never put it up I really appriciated it b/c in that case it is the thought that counts! My mom says we are lucky we didnt get anymore things like that as wedding gifts….. oh well
