So I know a lot of brides go through dress regret – luckily I haven’t gone through that. My dress is unique, and exactly what I always wanted to wear. I am, however, having a touch of sash regret. I purchased what is really a beautiful sash from MillieIcaro
But now I’m wondering if it isn’t a little too plain…. My wedding is a little less than a year away, so I know I have time to make a different decision. Here’s my dress for reference:
And here’s a picture of the sash on the dress:
Does the sash blend in too much with my dress? Am I just being silly and staring at too many picures of belts with tons of bling? I wanted bling, but subtle bling (does that even exist lol?), but now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t go for more bling. I’m so confused….
I guess I’m hoping to hear some opinions. I really appreciate everyone’s help!

Personally, I think it pops against the lace…throws some bling into the soft texture of the lace 🙂
It’s awesome seeing another H’town bride on here!!!(ain’t been on much lately, LOL!)

@tigergrrl2008: So, what kind of sash were you thinking of to get more sparkle? I want to see the “alternative” before I vote.
Btw, your dress is lovely.

@MlleFabuleux: Thank you! So here’s what I’ve been checking out
But that one clocks in at $1,600 (waaaaay out of the range of what I could ever bring myself to spend on a belt). This one I’ve been staring at recently too:
It’s a little more reasonably priced, but still would be a bit of a splurge…

@cheetah2b: Thank you – I go back and forth between really loving it and then not so much… Ugh, too many decisions!
It’s always fun to see other brides on here from the area! You need to check out the H-town board – a few of the Houston brides are planning on meeting up for brunch either this weekend and/or in a couple of weeks! You should come!

maybe the thicker sash is the way to go. However you have a bout a year to go. If you make yourself nuts with the sash…. it will turn to the dress. I’d wait a few months and then pull everything out again and see, thicker sash, more bling, maybe a color to match the BM’s …..
You look great in that dress tho!!

@tigergrrl2008: Both of those other sashes are beautiful, but yours is no less fabulous. I think the danger with going too wide is that it can end up making your waist look wider. Though I will add that the graduated pattern of the $1k belt would be more flattering and would harmonize with the bodice shape of your dress (since it sort of lends itself to that belt shape).
If you have your heart set on more sparkle, why not try out a cheaper sash with the shape of the second belt you posted (Etsy has some great options, as well)?

I think your sash is really pretty, it has a very soft vintage feel to it. But I have to say, I love the Lazaro sash (the last one you posted). I think the colours are just gorgeous and will provide a little more glam and contrast to your dress. How much is it?

I think the dress and sash both look gorgeous on you!

Your sash kind of looks like the one I had for my dress. I think it’s perfect! It will let the lace on your dress pop. take a look at some of the pics I posted and you will see my sash!!

I think the first sash is beautiful, but honestly, your dress by itself is just gorgeous. If it was me I wouldn’t put a sash on it at all and let all that lace take center stage. But then I have really classic/simple taste. 🙂
Whatever you choose will be beautiful!

@tigergrrl2008: ever thought of DIYing your own sash? You can etsy serach rhinstone applique – buy some ribbon and be all set for less then 20 bucks…

I think your sash looks beautiful with your dress! Since you have some time, I would suggest not looking at anymore sashes, even your own, for awhile. Usually, our first choice is what we will always go back to. Sometimes, we just need to take a step back and clear our head on it all! 🙂 I went through the same thing…sort of..with my own sash and now look back at my wedding pictures and love it!
Also, do you have your veil yet? Depending on what type of veil you get, you may not want something very blingy or overpowering.

I like it! I think anything heavier would look too modern against the lace. Beautiful!

I think the one you purchased looks beautiful with you and the dress. It’s got that subtle bling you were looking for. You don’t want the belt to be what everyone is staring at, you want them to see you as a whole, as a beautiful and put together bride on her wedding day.
