So I have been feeling really gross the past few weeks and realized I missed my period. Took a test, did the TWW, and now the blood test is in and it is positive. I am pregnant. Not at all what we wanted right now! We were safe but even that safety has a percentage of failing. I am excited because I am emotionally ready for this baby, and have been for a while. However I am terrified because we are nowhere near finacially ready or stable enough in our life. Mr. Hedgie is still in school! We live paycheck to paycheck and have just enough left over to sprinkle into savings. I am excited and terrified we wont be ready. But, we will find a way to make it work. We have to now.

So, Yay! We have a Hoglet on the way!

Oh my gosh! Congrats to you on your unexpected surprise! I hope I would have as good an attitude about it as you were DH and I to find ourselves in that position right now :P

You will be a fantastic Hedgie mom and you and your DH will find a way to make everything work :)

Wow, congrats. I remember u mentioning earlier about England. Will that change your mind about possibly moving to England? If your baby is born in England, I think your child can be a citizen of both England and US(though you'd have to reserch it). Pretty cool to think about though. Again congrats. Everything will work out fine. Imagine the stories you will be able to tell your child when he/she is older. :)

Wow!!!!! How totally exciting! No one is ever ready, but I think it's better to be emotionally ready and to figure out the financial piece other than the other way around! Congratulations.

@Earlybride: It certianly has made us rethink England. As much as I know we would love it, the stress of that as well as a baby on the way would be way too much for us. I just don't know how we would manage all that without me falling completely apart and feeling as ready as I will need to in 8 months. Plus, we would have to be traveling either in my 3rd trimester or with a newborn... Neither of those are happening. Like I said, plans will have to change now to fit another life into ours which means England is off the table.

Congrats! I'm sure you will find some way to make it work financially. I'm scared too, but I just telling myself that other people make it work with less, so we can too! Good luck!
