You should probably remind them of the fact that will be the last grandchild’s wedding she attends. They need to buck up! It’s just one day…

That sucks. Get your FI to lean harder on them.

I always figure the “no one’s as excited as your wedding as you” thing refers primarily to pre-wedding stuff (planning, invitations, pre-wedding parties, etc). But on the wedding day itself, it’s not too much to expect them to make a bit of an effort. What time do you want to take photos?

Plus, I assume this means less time between the ceremony and reception – they should be happy about that.

@cbco:  OK this might sound harsh but… if FI doesn’t want to, then drop it. FI family photos are primarily for the benefit of FI and his family. So, if they don’t want to do it, their loss. You concentrate on the wedding, and on getting wonderful photos with your family.
