@nattiejeanne:

yeah it happens, I just usually “accidentally” elbow him while he is sleeping. Usually helps me get over it.

Yes, he gets cranky on a semi regular basis, I really think he gets a “man period” at least once a month. I just give him a few days. If he’s still cranky I ask him what I am doing wrong, and it isn’t usually anything I did but it makes him realize he’s acting like I did. So basically my answer is yes.

Yup my FI gets super cranky at times and the littlest things could make him really upset.  My natural inclination is to be nurturing and try to help soothe his crankiness, but when he’s in that type of mood it makes it worse when I am that way.  These days, I will back off and ignore him completely (not in a mean way) and focus on doing things that make ME happy.  After a few hours or a day, he starts to get bored/lonely being all by himself and he’ll come around wondering what I’m up to.  He’s now learned that if he still has a sh*ty attitude towards me for no reason, I will absolutely NOT interact with him until he can be kind and loving so he’s learned to “get over” his crap real quick if he wants to have TLC time with me.

@nattiejeanne:  I gotta say the FI is never cranky like that, but I was married to one so I feel your pain. I just had to read your post because the term crank-butt cracked me up. And now I SOOOOOO wanna go get a delicious pizza. I say keep doing little things for yourself, fo sho! You are entitled. :o)

@nattiejeanne:  Uncrank, LOVE it! I’m like a small child when it comes to pizza deprivation. Seriously feel like getting out of my jammies and driving to my favorite place! Grrrrr. I’m STARVING.

Oh yup. He’s been working 72 hour weeks, and he just cracks at the most annoying moments. I know he’s stressed so I try to not take it personally, but it gets difficult. Sometimes I just want to smack him and tell him to take a nap.

If either of us are in a shitty mood, we’ll get in each other’s faces and say “u mad?!” Over and over until we crack lol. He normally gets really sooky if I do it often enough, where I just leave the room.
