I just need to gush a little.
First of all, my SO is scared of children, mostly because he’s never been around them… he held my little cousin once and I think he still has nightmares. He’s only 27 though, so I think by the time we have kids, a lot of our friends will have kids plus my brother and maybe his sister, so he’ll probably get a lot more comfortable.
Last night our dog got sick. She threw up 6 times last night. SO got up with her everytime and even ended up sleeping on the living room floor with her. It was so incredibly sweet. He was so concerned.
All I kept thinking is you’re adorable and are going to be so great with our kids someday…
BTW, she is doing better today. I made her rice & plain chicken breast for breakfast and she’s kept it down… although she is a lot more sleepy than usual.

@DreamingofDiamonds: This is gorgeous 🙂 I always think the same of my SO too, he’s not an overly affectionate person but when he’s around my little brothers (they’re much much younger – 6 months and 4) he is the best and they adore him! The 4 year old gets more excited to see him than me and the 6 month old has this adorable fascination with him and lights up and giggles constantly when he’s around. They have all bonded so sweetly I love it! I can’t wait to see him with our kids.
I think it’s a wonderful and reassuring quality to see in your partner 🙂 While children may scare him a little more than pets it still says a lot about someone when they treat animals in such a kind way 🙂

Awwwwww, that is the sweetest thing I’ve heard all day! I also think my FI will be an amazing dad because of how he takes care of me. Thank you for this, FI is OOT for a few days and I needed something to make me smile 🙂

Thanks for commenting! I feel like sometimes I can get a little anxious waiting for the engagement to happen, but it’s really good to recognize and cherish the little moments too 🙂

@DreamingofDiamonds: Glad your pup is feeling better. Ours were sick a few days ago and werent keeping food down, so I did the chicken and rice as well. I swear it’s a miracle treatment, as they are just fine now 🙂

Aha… My boyfriend is the same, never been close to children either (neither do I). But I know he will be a great father someday 😛 You just can tell he will.
Your SO was very cute all worring about the dog 🙂

I love moments like that. I watch how my SO is with our cat, or with our nieces and nephews, and I can tell he’ll be a good father. While his niece and nephew were in town, on the first day when I had to leave early for work, and I walked in to the kitchen to see him playing Polly Pockets with his niece, and taking it very seriously. If a guy can play Polly Pocket and not treat it like some big joke, he’s definitely got dad written all over him.

Awwww, so sweet! I feel the same about my DH, except he’s never had to do this for an animal; instead, he’s had to do it for ME! I was violently sick one night and (despite being sensitive to smells and sounds- to the extreme) he held my hair back and got me wet rags and medicine and watched out for me all night. So adorable. 😀
