honestly is it just a stereotypical guy thing that - when YOU have an idea about something that's going on...his reply is usually "no, we should do it MY way instead"...and then sometimes he will come back, weeks after you say "hey we should do xxx..." and while he said no that firs time, he'll come back a few weeks later with this "great idea" that was your idea 3 weeks ago...?

Oh geez... this is probably the basis of any of our fights.  We don't argue often but when we do, it's because of this very reason!

Lol; Yes totally a guy thing. It takes a LARGE glass of water for most to swallow their pride.

I don't get the whole "hey, listen to my great idea..." as if it's new 3 weeks later, but definitely empathize with having to be patient waiting for him to see my wisdom (when he says "no, that won't work" I usually give it my best "logical" argument, then drop it - to avoid nagging...he tends to come around).  At least 3 HUGE, early wedding decisions we've made were my original suggestions - from which stem all our other decisions.  And that's just wedding stuff...

UGH- FI does this to me all the time.  Sometimes I just smile at him and say "Oh sure honey, what a fantastic idea!" but most of the time I tell him that he needs to listen to me!!!

    MEN! :)

I don't get that, but he does similarly come to me saying "hey, did you know xxx?" when I had just shared that same concept with him a few days/weeks ago. He's just forgetful, though! I get a look on my face, and he goes, "...it was you who told me that, wasn't it?"

I know this is an old post, but I'm home alone tonight cruisin' the hive so I came across this post, and my response is:

This has happened with lots of wedding decisions, some of them his favorites. I'll come up with an idea, and he's all "meh" or "no" or "maybe" at first, and eventually he's like, "WOW, this is turning out SO GREAT!"

my favorite is when you say, "lets do A" and he'll say "no I like B" and when B goes wrong he'll say "I got a good idea, lets do A" as if he thought of it the whole time...
