So yesterday marks the beginning of my waiting…
Long ago we decided that we were going to spend the rest of our life together; however life always throws us some other areas to invest in…
We bought another house and decided to renovate one of our rental units, we took a few extra trips this year with family and friends, and we planned a month long trip to Thailand, etc.
So the ring & wedding costs always got put on the back burner as we lived out our adventurous life.
But this summer I don’t know what happened, it became a project for both of us to pick out my diamond and create a custom ring setting.
It all happened very quickly! We bought a stone, agreed on a setting and then sent the design out for quotes!!!
Yesterday I gave him the top two quotes that met my requirements… we also took the stone out of the safe and agreed it was time for him to hide it so I didn’t know when it was gone (getting crafted).
So ladies, I could be waiting for years or months – I really have no clue.
Whenever his finances are right (or we stop spending on every opportunity that comes to us lol), he talks to our families, and I guess is ready for it himself… it will happen.
My guess would be not until Christmas or later so I am sure that will be my “panicking time” lol
Happy waiting 🙂

@Serey: Rentals are so financially stressful!!! When you renovate you are responsible for multiple mortgages while it’s off the market… the Reno’s costs, then you have to find the right tenants. So I totally I FEEL your pain!
Congrats to you and your SO as well! It’s kind of nice when you know it’s going to happen… and yet it’s still going to be a surprise 🙂

@-crayola-: Aw well that’s awesome that you gave it to him. I would be a nut if I had the diamond haha! I’d be checking EVERY day to see if it ‘went missing’ lol
Happy waiting posts are the BEST!

I don’t even know where to begin….
Up until 2 weeks ago I knew nothing, but he finally my BF had to spill the beans – because he was afraid I would be upset if he didn’t propose at Christmas.
The stone we had picked out together this summer, got lost in transit on its way to the jeweler (because of HURRICANE SANDY).
The jeweler has already crafted the shank of the ring and needs a stone to finish the setting.
But our stone is lost, the postal service declared it lost two weeks ago (which is why BF finally spilled his beans).
We have to wait for the insurance claim on the lost parcel goes through to buy an new stone… but the jeweler won’t wait.
The setting is so delicate that I can’t use a replacement CZ, because it will affect the structural integrity of the ring to remove the CZ to have it replaced one day.
Oh did I mention the setting, which is half crafted, is half paid for…
We are in such a bind I don’t know how all this is going to play out.
Oh and I thought “let’s get an Amora Moissanite”… but they everyone is SOLD OUT.
So waiting has become a lot more difficult.

Hey all – IT HAPPENED WE ARE ENGAGED!!!
For anyone that wondered what happened to: We ended up buying a new Diamond from the Shenoa (the people who crafted my custom setting).

Later the AMORA stone was found by UPS and returned to us, it is currently for sale as we already purchased a real diamond for my ring and no longer need it.
