New to the site. Racked up quite a "fan base", if you will, my first few posts.
Now my question to you is...
What the F is a 'troll'? That seems to be my new nickname? My title? My calling?
Is that like an internet terms for "you trifflin bich" because man its been flashing at me excessively. Is that equivalent to the high school outcast?
INQUIRING MINDS WANNA KNOW!
It's basically a new member who posts drama inducing threads. If you have a post count of 2 and your first thread is to debate abortion, you're more than likely a troll.
My understanding of a Troll was someone who was new on the site/boards and just jumped into a conversation to start up trouble and/or post very abrasive or judgemental comments. Not someone who's really part of the community here to join in with the love and sharing experiences. (It's not that you can't give an opposite or honest opinion, but they should be given in a respectful manner, not putting people down.)
That said, I've never read any of your posts or comments so I have no judgement toward you yourself. I hope you aren't a Troll. :)
@UpstateCait: I see. So if I discuss something controversial and I have strong opinions on it (all 2 posts), it soon after equivocates to drama and I am therefore dubbed a "troll".
Sounds - interesting to say the least.
Well now I know. LOL
Thx for clearing that up for me. :)
I don't think you are a troll but you are a 'feather ruffler'. Lots of ladies on the bee can be a tad sensitive so take it slow and easy.
@ItsPronounced_ABear: LOL!! OOOOOOoooohhhh!! Ok this explains it then. I did let some people have it in a post about detoxing. I can see how they would see it as drama, some of them were quite the conservative bunch.
Ok, I get it now. Makes sense.
I think that we boards have had their fair share of trololololing lately so now our guard is up everytime someone new comes in.
Don't take it personal :)
@bRooklynRocks: Hey Brooklyn! Thx for the advice. You know I really don't mean to be that way, but in general I am quite the reactionary person and I do have strong views. I sometimes think people can take it as much as I can, which I agree def is not the case. Not everyone is one in the same. After viewing some posts, responses, and checking out some profiles I def. did a WHOA and re-evaluated.
@tranquility: Oh not at all, tranquillity. It's good to know what the deal is. Ty :) If there was som trolololoing - I like that btw - going on on my boards I might be uber alert myself
I personally enjoy reading your comments and think you bring some fun and pizazz to the boards! I can imagine you speaking in my head when I read your posts and I like that. But, you will probably ruffle some feathers like bRooklynRocks said.... who cares? ;P
@LaurenK0105: Awww thank, Lauren! I've also been called snarky. I've never really used the term but I'm kinda startin to like it.
@LaurenK0105: I agree. It's hard to have a "different" opinion on the Bee. And I think it's hard not to be snarky when you're clearly being ganged up on.
@Jillbean: Well, girl. We all can't be as awesome and intelligent as you. GOD! If ONLY!
I flagged your post. That was uncalled for.
@deetroitwhat: Very true. Not so worried about the internet gang up on, because frankly - who are these women to me? What I have noticed though is that most of them are so conservative and vanilla plain. Just close-minded. It's riduculous. And it looks like a lot of them have like a board forum gang. It's cute almost.
@Jillbean: Not gonna lie, I LOL-ed at that. But still...
That was way harsh, Tai.
@Joctradamus: Many of the ladies on the bee are good friends. The reason many of them joined in on the detox thread is because one of them attacked and I'm sure others were insulted. We aren't vanilla plain, we just have respect for one another.
@Oneeleven: I understand. Since I happen to think 99% of the OP's posts are uncalled for, I'm willing to be the uncalled for one in this thread and I knew it would probably get flagged before I said it.
@tranquility: trololololing :) awesome.
@Joctradamus: It's not that it's a conservative bunch, it's just weird to see someone new come onto the boards and do it so aggressively. I don't take offense to you...I think you're amazing! But I'm also from the Bay Area, and women are a little more spicy there :)
Just take your time and most will warm up to you!
@Jillbean: that was pretty rude.
@Gingersnap @cyndistar3 Haha, yeah, you're right, it's harsh. The OP has been running around weddingbee calling everyone whiners and idiots (not in so many words, although pretty close) though, so I think just this one time I'm gonna be way harsh.
@Jillbean: I don't think I'm caught up on the drama but kudos to you for sticking to your guns.
*runs to look for drama threads*
@Jillbean: I don't think name calling is going to get your point across and make this the environment that we enjoy. It's only going to add more fire to the flame and this thread too will blow up with more attacks.
@Joctradamus: It's definitely hard to have an opposing opinion here and I think its all about the tone when posting. Bee's aren't going to jump on you if you respect the policy of leaving comments above the comment line where it talks about avoiding personal attacks and snarkiness. However, spunk and spice should be encouraged!
What?? Maybe I'm thick skinned or somthing, but I just went back and read all of OP's posts and didn't think any of them were that bad. The most controversial thing was shoes, and one poster took it totally out of context and acted the OP- not the other way around... I don't get it... maybe I missed the inflammatory ones.
I think any form of internet or mobile written communication can very easily be taken the wrong way. There is no way to tell the actual sentiment behind it. I haven't read any of your posts, but would advise not just here but in all email, text, IM, etc communication that you re-read what you write before hitting "Send". I know I have bitten my virtual tongue too late before, and there is no going back.
@Gingersnap: "*runs to look for drama threads* LOL... Me too, I have to see what all the fuss is about.
+1
I totally went and read them too.
It's Friday, we're allowed!
@EleanorRigby: It wasn't one of her original postings ... it was some of the things she put in the lemmon detox thread.... i believe she called a few people liars.
Wow sorry for the rude comments. Thats not a good welcome to the bee... so.. Hey welcome to the bee!!
OH HEY! I didn't even see the great amount of responses on this thread! Too busy talking to people trying to change my mind on the other.
I didn't really read through all of the posts, but let me just say this.
If someone publicly asks for opinion, I'm going to give it to them. You don't have to like it, but you're going to attack it. Ok. You want me to what...sit back and say "oh, ok. you're right. I'm wrong."
NO MAN! LOL! COME ON!
I'm going to give my opinion and try to be as respectful as possible. If I don't agree with you, I'm not going to agree with oyu and i'm going to keep it moving.
AND I LOVE MY SHOES!
@HisIrishPrincess: I called someone a liar? Ooooo girl that's how rumors start. Come correct.
@napabridekelsey: You know, thank you. I'm not trying ot be offensive at all. But it's kind of corny how some of these women react to a disagreement. it's INSANE!
@Joctradamus: i'm sorry not called them an out and out liar but ... someone that was misrepresnting themselves as a DR. ... oopsie my bad hope I didn't get too many rumours started.
please insert eye roll smiley face here
@Jillbean: For someone that can't stand my tone - you're still sticking around for the long run
I think you are awesome and amusing, seeing as I just had my wisdom teeth out and am layed up on my couch I find this very refreshing!!! I do notice that alot of women (myself included) can be sensitive to certain subjects and many many many times I have had to refrain from arguing with strangers on the internet. But really, I think you've been mostly harmless, and pretty hilarious! Although, and this is just an observation, joctradamus and jenosaurus have similar screennames and similar typing styles and when reading the shoe thread I totally thought you two were the same person. If you're not, well sorry just my observation!
@HisIrishPrincess: Misrepresenting themselves as a DR? Explain. Does nto compute. I mean, I'm not really worried about it. You're kind of just proving the point I'm trying to make. But please, continue.
