So I bought my dress and a slip from them a few weeks ago. When we pulled the slip out of the packaging to try it on with the dress the bottom of it was frayed. I went ahead and put it on and wore it ON CARPET assuing that wouldn’t damage it anymore. Well, someow it did. When I took it into the store to exchange it the Assistant Manager refused to because the have a strict “No refund or exchange policy”. While I was talking to her she proceded to pull it apart even more. Then gave it back to me saying “Well, it was already falling apart and I find it hard to believe you actually wore this on carpet.” Seriously!!! I called today and asked for the Manager. When the person on the phone said she was the manager I explained the situation. When I was done she asked me to hold on. Suddenly somebody else picked up the phone claiming SHE was the manager. When I explained it yet again (Not sure who I was actually talking to at that point) she said the same thing. WTF? I know it isn’t all of Alfred Angelo but this one store has really gotten my blood boiling.
EDIT: I just called another AA store and explained the situation. She was so nice and very willing to exchange it. It just goes to show that one store can risk spoling the pot for the whole company.

*sigh.* It really does. I’m glad you found a resolution!

Good for you for being persistent! Glad you got it taken care of!

I’m glad someone was able to help you. That really sucks how they treated you at the other store. I would write a review and in the review I would direct them to the AA store that was nice to you.

@trugem: i second this… i’m glad the other AA store was able to help, but those other ones should get an admonishing review while the helpful one gets a great one!

I plan on writing a letter or e-mailing the regional manager and seriously complaing about the first store because if this happened to me, how many other brides has it happened to? But at the same time I plan on making sure the second store gets a million and one praises because if it weren’t for them I would probably always have a bad taste in my mouth and do everything possible to stear people clear of AA. Now I want to direct everybody to that store. Esp that sales associate. She was amazing!

I’m so glad it worked out!

I was going to suggest puting in complaints to the office b/c you never know that they might change the rules. I’ve heard of things like that. You should write a formal complaint. It helps if you have the names of whom you were talking to as well so that they are aware of WHOM is causing issues. That definitly does hurt the store and the brand name and that’s not cool!!

I’m sorry to hear that honey. I’m an AA bride myself and I’ve heard some horror stories about them, but am lucky the the 2 near me have been so helpful. BM dresses have come in NOT fitting (my MOH seems to be gaining weight lately … very happy in life lol) and they returned it for another without any hestiation.
So, you’re right. Its a shame that one store can ruin it for the name! I would write a letter to corporate informing them of what occured at THAT store, but also talk about the OTHER store that helped you. That way its a letter informing them “Hey, great job with making sure your stores are customer friendly! But, somehow, this one may be slipping through the cracks.” Positive feedbac with negative is something all companies look for.
Glad it was able to be fixed!!!!

That’s awful! No refunds/exchanges shouldn’t apply when they sell you a defective product!! I’m glad you found someone who would help you.

Was relieved to hear it was just one Alfred Angelo store and not the brand as a whole. I love their dresses! Thanks for posting this
