Oh girl, I thought it was me writing this post about 4 months ago!! I had the SAME problem after my surgery last September! They found a large gallstone and said it probably wouldnt pass so I had the gallbladder removed the next week. Things never got better, just worse! I had the EXACT same upper middle pain (sorta like a burning) and I threw up bile on a daily basis. I had multiple tests done looking for sludge that didnt get cleaned out of my duct after surgery and they couldnt figure it out!!
My pain stopped a few months ago abruptly so let me tell you, JUST HANG IN THERE!! Sometimes your body takes months, yes MONTHS to get used to not having that organ there. No matter who tells you that the gallbladder isnt that important, your body will still have a state of shock when it isnt there.
The only things that worked for me for the "burning" pain was milk. Yeah, its weird, but it worked wonders 90% of the time. It kind of coats the stomach. Reeaaalllly keep away from the fatty foods (even though the doctors say that you can go back to eating normally, it always flared up worse after even semi-bad foods). ALSO READ: Buy these pills: The brand is Spring Valley and they are called Probiotic Multi-enzyme Degestive Formula. These were recommended on a Gallbladder Help Board that I found when I was in so much pain. They are dirt cheap and ever since I started taking them with meals, I have had no problems. AT ALL. They are worth a shot! I carry them everywhere. They just aid the body in digesting meats and other hard-to-digest foods, especially when your liver is trying extra hard to do the work without a gallbladder.
Please have faith and remember, I am not a doctor, but I feel your pain (you have no idea!) and I believe you will find peace from this soon!! Good luck!
Since this post is from a month ago, I hope you are feeling better! If you are not, have they checked you for pancreatitis? My mom had her gallbladder removed many years ago and last year she had the same symptoms you were describing. It turns out that a gallstone was stil in her...10 years later, and it was blocking a duct. Once the gallstone was removed, all her symptons were gone.
Ditto what jennfur said. I hope you've gotten to the bottom of this and now feel better.

In early April I had my gallbladder removed after finding out through an ultrasound that I had a large gallstone.
I had the laparoscopic surgery preformed on me shortly after finding the gallstone and have been increasingly getting sicker ever since. I was told the surgery went well but everyday I feel weak and sick to the stomach and every night I wake up with severe upper-middle abdominal pain since the surgery six weeks ago, sometimes ending in vomiting.
Since the pain is so severe I have undergone ten blood tests, several urine tests, multible pregnancy tests, three ultrasounds, an endoscopy, three stool culture tests, trials of many medications and countless doctor and hospital visits. These tests found nothing abnormal enough for the doctors I've seen to help me.
I recently spent five days in a big hospital about an hour away from where I live to receive treatment for the pain but was ultimately left with no clear answers and scheduled for more tests to be done on an out-patient basis. I have become very frustrated that my pain has been unanswered and only morphine could calm it down.
During testing the only odd things that they have found (but failed to follow up on) are: an elevated white blood cell level signally some sort of irritation, a "rough" looking liver from what was seen in the ultrasound, a metal clip from the gallbladder surgery that has somehow ended up in my pelvic area(which scares me because I'm allergic to some metals and it's just generally creepy), a thirty pound rapid weight gain, stool backed up somewhat although I am not constipated and finally, an unsual amount of bile sitting in my intestine.
I'm unsure if these complications are any to worry about but I am discouraged that this surgery has made me so sick and no doctor seems to have an answer yet. I can't live my life in this much pain and I can't help but wonder if my surgeon made a mistake. I would really appreciate your thoughts on my condition. Maybe there's something I haven't even thought of!
