and I got super excited, and stupidly texted the lucky mans Girlfriend (who I am friends with).  I said something like "I know something, and its super exciting goss."  She asked what and I replied "I can't say right now, but its exciting, you will find out in time"

I regret doing it, but I had to burst.

So she got her partner to ring my FI to ask what shit I was trying to stir, what game was I playing.  I wasn't playing a game, I WAS JUST EXCITED and couldn't hold it in.

Well My FI told him that I was just being cheeky because I knew that FI was going to ask him to be his best man at the wedding.

    His reply?

Apparently nothing.  He replied something along the lines of "well while I'm on the phone did you hear about blah blah blah fire birgade business."

My question is....was that a yes, was that a no, was that a "I didn't comprehend what you just said" or was it "I'm so shell shocked by that, that I need to change the subject"

When I asked my Bridesmaid (about an hour after FI proposed to me, lol) she screamed and said "yes yes yes yes yes" lol.  Now I don't expect that reaction from a man.....but seriously....no reaction at all?

I'm confused......and really don't know if my FI has a Bestman yet or not.....any advice?

I think men are just different about these things.

DH never really asked his GMs/BM he just kind of said "I want you to be one of my groomsmen". They each said "OK" and moved on.

Maybe your FI could just shoot him a quick e-mail along the lines of, just wanted to make sure that you are cool with being my Best Man (or something along those lines) to make sure the request was heard and accepted.

@Firie:  While woman may indeed be "different" than men, you should still expect some kind of reaction.

My best man hugged me, tried to tackle me and then said "I love you, man!"

I hope that this best man was just trying to act tough or something...
