Wow! I would have been so sad too! But I don’t think your ring is jinxed at all. In fact, I think it was kind of meant to be because it made its way back to you when really the thief could have sold it or chucked it before getting caught. But that’s just me!

Aww dont get a new one! This is the one that almost got away so it’s kind of special in it’s own way! You should keep it in my opinion, unless you just dont like it! Then you could use that to get a different style! Lol.

the fact you got it back means it’s charmed, not jinxed!

@misspig:  Did he at least have it in a locked drawer or safe? Yikes, that’s too bad that it happened. But good luck to y’all that it was found. I’d still use it. I don’t think it’s jinxed (I don’t believe in that kind of thing).

i think the ring is good luck if they were able to find it and return it to you, what are the chances? so i’d keep it.

and atleast when you tell this proposal story years later you will laugh about it!

@dlbaqua:  +1 How many people have a valuable piece of jewelry come back to them after it’s been stolen? Your fiance picked it out with you in mind, and was looking forward to giving it to you.

Nothing about that ring can jinx your marriage. :)

I’d keep it. That is the one he wanted to give you to begin with, and a lot of people worked hard to get it back to you. The fact that it came back at all is something akin to a miracle–my old e-ring, wedding band, and several pieces of nice jewelry were stolen, as well, and I’ve seen no sign of them since, nor do I expect to.

Plus, even if you try and sell it, it’s very unlikely you’ll get back anywhere near what he paid for it, because new rings depreciate similarly to new cars. So you’d probably have to settle for something smaller/not as elaborate/lower quality.

I don’t think it’s jinxed, either. If you got your laptop stolen, but the police found it in a drug bust and gave it back to you unharmed, would you not want to use it anymore?

wow! that’s crazy! i’ve been so bummed out because i lost a diamond from my ring (again) and i don’t know when i’ll be able to have it fixed, but at least it’s safe in my jewelry box. worse things could have definitely happened to it!

i’m glad everything worked out. i’d definitely keep the ring. the fact that it was found and is on its way back to you guys sounds like its meant to be on your finger :)

It’s definitely not jinxed. How many people do you know that have stuff stolen from them get it returned?  Not many!  That lucky little ring made it’s way back to you.

Well it sucks that the ring was stolen.  But I absolutely don’t think that it is jynxed by any means.

@dlbaqua:  +1

A hurricane hit the weekend I was supposed to get engaged, so we had to reschedule the beach getaway for 2 weeks later. I live in an area where it’s not supposed to get hit by hurricanes too.
