Thanks guys! I went in expecting to end up with something with organza or tulle, flowey and romantic. My associate grabbed this, it was the first thing I tried on and when I walked out and saw myself, I was stunned. LOVE it! It screams vintage Hollywood glamour to me.
@okqueenbee - Yup, I'm in a size 16 dress here. I'm a street size 14. And thank you! I've been as small as a street size 6 less than 5 years ago and honestly it has been very hard to adjust to.

I had a silmilar experience. My first trip to DB was horrible. The consultant (who didn't really consult) totally killed the wedding dress mood. It was so bad.
We did however find the bridenaid dresses that day (we walked around on our own)

Shoot! I shouldn't have looked! I'm totally jealous of your dress now! lol. I saw one like it in a privetley owned boutique window, but can't make myself go try it on (probably out of what was my price range). Seeing one like it at David's makes me want to go back. It doesn't help we are the same size! *No! Bad Barista!* lol.
Well @hisbarista - This dress is currently on sale for $850 - $200 off the $1050 price tag. Just saying! It was out of my initial range too but after looking at dresses in my range and being unimpressed, I decided a little more 'ramen' and lot more dress was worth every penny.

I am glad you had a better 2nd experience. As for me, I do not think I will ever step foot in David's Bridal ever again. My 1st and 2nd experiences were terrible. Your dress is beautiful on you. I too am a size 16 dress (14 street) and I love seeing girls my size in their dresses. Thanks for sharing.
you look FABULOUS!!!!! and don't worry about the size. i wear a street size 11/12 yet my oleg cassini is a plus size 16!
I wasn't expecting too much from David's Bridal based on what some people have said. I had such a wonderful experience! My consultant was the best and I found a gorgeous dress for my teeny budget (T9309). So glad you found the one! You look amazing in it!
I went and tried it on today. I love it, too! Way more than the dress I have. But FI said no, so I'm not sure what will happen. lol. Thanks for the tip it was on sale, though!
That is awesome, that was my runner up dress! You do not look like a size 16 AT ALL! It was a dress that I never thought to try on, but I had a great Davids Bridal consultant who brought it over to me!
YAY! I bought my dress yesterday! I have better photos to post soon. I'm so in love with this dress! (oh, yeah in love with my fiance too!)

I believe that your experience depends onthe store, i had a great experience evry time i went there my associate was wonderful. She was funny and not pushy. Also a lot of the things people say about david's calling repeatedly that also hasn't happened to me. the store and people that work there make a def. difference.
Now that I've had a good experience, I will happily agree that it depends on the store. My second store was awesome, we picked my bridesmaids dress out there yesterday while I bought mine and had decent (not as good as last time though) service.

I'll make this brief. Back in January, I made an appointment at a David's Bridal to try on gowns. That appointment, as I have discussed before, was a disaster. The most frustrating part of it was that I felt like the associate made no real effort... like, AT ALL to make me feel good about myself or enjoy the experience.
I want to come back and RAVE about my second experience which truly proves that a different store can make the difference. Not only did I find THE DRESS, THE ONE - but every part of the whole thing was fun, relaxed and I felt beautiful.
Here I am in a (bad cell phone) photo wearing the Oleg Cassini CT314 size 16 (in case other ladies my size want to see this dress rocked on a not size 2 body!)
