I stayed at my parents place on Friday night, and then went home with Fiance on Saturday night. When I went to take off my jewelry before going to bed, I noticed that i had all my rings and my earrings on, but there was no sign of the necklace that Fiance gave me for our first Christmas together. Right away i went into panic mode- I had been at my parents place, at work, on 2 buses, and in a grocery and convenience store. The necklace could have been anywhere.
First instinct was to call home in case I had just forgotten to put it on. My sister was the one who answered, and she said she looked around and didn’t see it. (In retrospect, I probably shouldn’t have asked her to look anyways, because she couldn’t care less about the jewelry. If you’ve seen any of my recent posts, you’ll know she’s not a fan of me and FI).
I sent an email to my workplace right away so that they would be on the lookout for it (and so that if a housekeeper found the necklace, no one else could claim it as theirs). Also spent 20 minutes on hold with the transit company’s lost and found in case it came loose and fell off on the bus.
None of that was necessary- I was talking to my mother on the phone this morning (she calls daily), and she mentioned that she saw my necklace sitting right on my dresser (so clearly my sister did not look very hard for it- again, it’s obvious she didn’t give a damn about finding it and how upset I was that it was lost.
I’m just glad that I’ll be able to get it back around my neck tonight after work!
