Ummm, that’s not ok. You should be able to return it for the right color. That’s like signing a contract for a new car in silver, then finding out they’re only going to give you a red one. It’s so not the same thing. I’d complain unless you really really like it when you see it (to the store, not your man). He shouldn’t feel bad, it’s the store’s fault!

@LittleSu: agreed. This sounds like a bait and switch, but white gold cost more than yellow….all of this is very strange.

What the heck?? I think you should ship it back when it arrives and demand that they give you what you asked for. The yellow gold ring is the one you love and the one you shoudl be getting, not a replacement. I wouldn’t accept it if I was in your shoes. Besides, why would they ship a different ring before informing you or just tell you it’s on backorder and it will be (x) number of days before it’s ready to ship. Something isn’t right here.

I wouldn’t settle for second best, keep pushing for the exchange, even upgrade for the mistake, they should have no qualms about replacing it for what you actually ordered. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
