So literally one month ago, my old and trusty ’95 Taurus broke down on me for good. The transmission went out. Now of course, I can replace the transmisson but it’d be at least $3,000. It’s not worth it though since the car was coming close to 200k miles anyway. But I’m sad about it. That Taurus was my first car that I ever bought with my own money. I bought it when I was 19 and I’m 25 now. Needless to say, it has served me well. I miss it. It had its quirks but I still loved it. 🙁
Anyway. So my parents have three cars, all bought and paid for. An old Crown Victoria, an old Malibu and an old Buick. They use the Malibu as their primary car, usually. And the other two as backups.
Well, the Buick needed its air conditioning repaired and it also needed a new tire. And the Crown Victoria gets TERRIBLE gas mileage. So until the Buick was fixed, they graciously allowed me to use their Malibu.
Some time later, the Buick got fixed so we switched cars. But just a few days later, the Buick’s air conditioning stopped working again. Plus it tried to run hot on me. So now I’m back to the Malibu.
Well, I just got back from lunch and I am not happy. The Malibu just tried to run hot on me. Arghh!! So I texted my dad and he told me to bring the Malibu by their house tonight and they would give me the Crown Victoria to drive while he tried to fix the Malibu.
Sigh. I’m just tired of switching cars around! And I’m tired of each car breaking down or messing up in some way! I just want a dependable car to drive. Is that too much to ask? 🙁
And before you ask, I am not in a position to go out and get a car loan to buy a new car. The plan was for me to buy my parents’ Buick from them and to make monthly payments to them.
But with the Buick still messed up…sigh. Who knows when that will happen. Sigh. Okay. Vent is now over.
