… but I am totally fed up.
I have dried boogies up my nose. Which ordinarily wouldn’t be a huge problem but it’s been like this about two months. Also it hurts and is tender to the touch, to start with only at the tip but now other parts of my nose hurt because it is so hard and crusty (about 5 days). Blowing my nose at the moment hurts and does nothing to get rid of it although it does sometimes bleed. I admit to picking at it a bit, it hurts to remove it and only provies temporary relief. One nostril is worse than the other.
I know this is weird. Any bees got magic cures to soften it/get rid of it?
ETA: I should add that I can breathe fine, and (I don’t think) it’s affected my sense of smell. It just hurts/is uncomfortable.

@Cariad: Thank you! I know what I will be doing this evening. Here’s hoping it all clears up. I especially like the warnings “Be mature (don’t show them off or anything)” and “Remain in a civil, non-barbaric state. It’s cool, but not that big of a deal.”

Having tons of allergies I feel your pain. It may sound weird but rub Vaseline (plain, not scented or baby) or in a pinch plain Chapstick up there. Wash hands really well especially fingers/under nails (so as not to introduce new irritants) and put a bit on finger and rub around in there as often as needed (Vaseline best for frequent use). You can also use Qtips or something but for me that’s more irritating than nothing. Sounds gross I know! It gets so irritated and painful becuase it gets dry. Once it’s in your nostrils it’s useless to blow unless it’s already free. Moisture helps, and I know they say don’t mess with it, but as you know that only works in a perfect world where things aren’t dry and annoying.
As far as the link posted above… eek. If you go “cracking” things, you’re liable to just irriate or scrap the inside of your nostrils, or even pull off the offending things (with skin!). Nostrils are REALLY thin and sensitive to begin with. Admittedly if you can “pick” them out, your best bet is your pinky, it’s smaller and less likely to irriate the rest of your nose. But seriously try to loosen them up first!

I recommend using Neosporin with a Qtip at night & during the day use AYR (over the counter), it is a very light gel with aloe, it will help with the irritation and dryness.

Put vaseline up your nose and it will keep it from drying out 🙂
