Not pregnant, and not even TTC, but the “who was in the delivery room” post got me thinking – was anyone’s SO not in the room while they gave birth? Obviously there are some extenuating circumstances (maybe military, a business trip and you went into labor early, emergency c-section and he wasn’t allowed, etc), but was anyone’s DH/FI or whomever just like…not there when they could have been, 1950s style? Is he squeamish? Or what made you decide that he would stay out of the room?
For me, I’d like Fiance there, but he is SOOO squeamish. He’ll have to really toughen up for L&D!

My Fiance is very squeamish, we are TTC and have already decided that he will not be in the room with me. Another reason is I feel that child birth is a personal thing and only those in the room should know what happened and he will give everyone the play by play.

Darling Husband was in the room with me but he did not look “below”. He stayed up by my shoulder and counted when I had to push and then cut the umbilical cord. He was a little unsure about if he wanted to cut it or not but in the end decided to and says now he is glad that he did.
@Wildflower2016: I agree with you on what happens in the room stays in the room. There were some people that were surprised when they found out I only wanted Darling Husband in the room with me. I didn’t need a room full of people!
