mrstattoo10816:  I would think an important factor would be the weather where you live. Otherwise it’s strictly a matter of personal preference.

Well, October in New England can be pretty chilly, so indoors would probably be a safer bet. Or at least have an indoor option. Were you thinking more formal or casual?

mrstattoo10816:  I think it’s really weather and personal preference. I knew there was no way I wanted to get married inside, period, so we just scheduled our wedding around a time that would be good weather in our area. It sound slike you picked our date first and are now trying to decide in/out… Have you checked the farmers almanac historical weather info? You can go back years for the weather for a particular date or week to give you a better idea of what the weather has been like, historically, and that might help make the decision….

I’m getting married in SE NE in mid-September outside. If I was doing it in October, I’d probably reconsider doing it outside and instead, maybe just hope for some good photos outside hoping that the weather cooperates.

Where are you having your vow renewal? Since you are in NE, have you considered the Mt. Washington Omni? They have lovely fireplaces AND great vistas. It could be a win-win.
