Ooh I wish there were more pictures on this thread! I was torn between oval, pear, and marquise.. I went and checked what would look best in the setting (yeah, what can I say, I'm such a "helpful" girlfriend ;)) and I chose the pear, just because it's even less common than marquise.
But I know one day we'll upgrade the center to a "used" diamond from a pawn shop or something, so I'll likely end up with a marquise then.. unless I really can track down the right pear-shaped one!!

@Mrs.Estep: Me neither.. Re: my other post, I talked him into CZ for the time being! I'm way excited. The thought of a new diamond when he can't afford it right now makes me queesy.. plus this way I can get the shape/size I want, haha.

@Mrs.Estep: I just bought a 5mm band that goes with my ring. I just love my ring so much more b/c it makes the little stone "pop". Thank you for being my inspiration!

My stone was given to me by my FMIL (it came from a ring that FFIL had custom made for her). When FH was first shopping for rings I told him I hated this shape, but once I put it on my finger I loved it. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Oh my cow! I promise I have tried a bajillion times to shrink that stupid picture! I'm sorry it's so stinking huge
