@Payless:  Our tree is up lol. We haven’t decorated yet but we have the lights and star on top and a few presents wrapped. We’ve got a late start but it’s progress 🙂

We’re supposed to be getting ours today. We’re getting a small, real one that we can put in the end table.

@Payless:  Hey! I read this after we had gotten it, but yes, we’re near a Lowes. We just went to the closest place here; however the Lowes would have only been another 3 minutes or so away. This place we went to didn’t have a great selection either. It’s a small tree anyway; we’re putting it on an end table because we’re not sure how the puppy is going to respond to it. At least on the end table it’s higher up so hopefully she won’t try to eat it lol.

We put our tree up and decorated it last night, and I’m done with all my shopping but still have quite a bit of wrapping to do!

@Payless:  Our tree was up and flawless for about 8 hours. Then at 7 am the next morning, there was a loud crash. One of the cats (not sure which one, but Fudge looked awfully suspicious) knocked the whole thing over and shattered a bunch of the good ornaments. Of course the cheap ones were fine. Among the broken ornaments was one of our wedding gifts– The groom out of a set of skeleton/Day of the Dead bride and groom. We cleaned up the mess and anchored the tree to the wall and now it’s fall-proof!

We try to get a real tree every year. Ususally we cut it down at a tree farm but I just had spinal fusion surgery end of Sept. so we cut one that was already cut at the farm we ususally go to. It was actually big enough this year to use about 60% of my ornaments. Our Christmas gifts for each other though will be bought after the Holiday cos 2 days after getting the tree my transmission went in my car (happy holidays, almost a grand later!) AND now his truck is acting up. I dont care cos we can leave the tree up longer. Yay! We also didnt do outside lights this year but we have a box that synchronizes lights to music so We used it on the tree, fireplace garland, and lights around our 3 front windows and he put it on a wireless remote (SO is such a nerd)..

My birthday is Dece. 29th so we will be having Christmas then probably, gifts are bought for family at least and I got part of my birthday gift early, although I still cant use it (ruger sr22 in black & raspberry) because I haven’t gotten cleared from the doctor to goto gun range yet 🙁

Our tree is up, presents aren’t wrapped yet though.  We also need a new tree topper.

We get ours at our local Home Depot every year.  They always have a good selection for reasonable prices.  We got a 6 ft Douglas fir.

I love Christmas tree smell!  I just wish it wasn’t my Fenja’s last Christmas.

Our tree (which we’re about to decorate — I had to think in portals for awhile and now we’re ready to proceed).
