    @HonoraryNerd:  Thats so cool to know they can be donated.

    I think keeping them would be kind of gross or creepy. Although i know my mom attempted to keep ours…yet they all got lost or every once in a blue moon a child’s tooth pops up in a random drawer or something… yuk!

    Oh, if you can donate them, then I’d totally do that! Otherwise I’m so tossing it… kind of creepy to have lying around.

    I think it is awesome that you can donate them! I didnt know that!  I lost my teeth in such unconventional ways usually that I couldnt imagine my mom keeping them. Ie: Getting 2 knocked out by a softball! Or one falling out in the shower and going down the drain.

    Also, I try really hard not to be a pack-rat and over sentimentalize things. To each tbeir own though.

    @mamadingdong:  EWW!! OMG that is so creepy and would totally freak me out lol.

    I don’t plan to save them. I just think thats a little weird. Donating them to a dental school is a good idea.

    mamadingdong   WTF!!!  I am dying right now.

    I have saved those of my daughter who is now 10.  After she figured out that there was no tooth fairy I pulled them out and showed them to her- she said they are cool and creepy!

    My mom still has ours — it’s really strange to me.  She keeps asking if I want them, and I don’t, but I also feel weird throwing them away.

    I haven’t the slightest idea what my parents did with ours. There are 5 of us so that’s a lot of teeth. I see no value in keeping them and I find it a little weirs. G for garbage.

    @mamadingdong:  Wow, is that creepy!!

    And my son just lost a tooth last night. It was a dramatic scene. Boys are more dramatic than girls.  My daughter used to just pull them out and hand them to me. My son was kicking and screaming and crying for about a half hour. I touched the tooth and it came out. Boys!

    We wrap them up with a tissue, mark them with their name and date and put tape around them.  I have a collection of them in my drawer….idk what to do with them?  Save them and give them to them when they are older and let them deal with them?

    My Mom keeps ours (all FOUR of ours) in a drawer in her jewelery box.

    So. Freaking. Creepy.

    But I’ll probably wind up doing the same thing!

    My parents kept all of my baby teeth.  It has been a running joke that they would eventually make a face jug using my baby teeth, and they used to threaten me with it if i misbehaved as a child.  If you’re not familiar with these, a face jug is basically an pottery jug (like a moonshine jug) with an intentionally ugly face sculpted onto the side.  It’s also called an “ugly jug”.  I think it’s may be a southern thing because I never saw them when I lived up north.  Well, for my 25th birthday, they actually followed through with commissioning a jug with my baby teeth, and gave me the jug as a present.  It’s sitting in my guest room and is creepy as hell.  My parents are very strange people.  Don’t have any pics on me because I’m at work, sadly.

    So, what will I be doing with my hypothetical childrens’ teeth?  Anything but that.
