I think it’s a cute look but like you, I dont own a dress with pockets.

I think at a wedding, it would be helpful to throw your lipgloss in…

haha, I have a couple cute dresses (very casual ones) with pockets.  I just think it’s cute, I wouldn’t put anything in them other than my hands.  But I know what “Say Yes to the Dress” you’re talking about!

I bout a cocktail dress for my engagement party that has pockets in it. I didn’t even realize it until the night was almost over. Also, my bridesmaids dresses have pockets. Again, that was an oversight but it is a huge convenience so that they can have cash, ID, lip gloss, whatever they want and not have to worry about watching a purse or carrying one around.

Yeah, pockets on a wedding dress would make it feel less formal I think.

I think it’s totally awesome to have a pocket to stash some lipgloss and a credit card & ID into.  …or for weepy brides, some tissues!

I don’t get it either. I don’t know why people are so excited by it. To me it just seems strange.

My wedding dress has pockets as do a number of my casual and work dresses. I think it adds interest to the dress and also gives me a place to put my hands when I don’t know what else to do with them (hah).Dresses with pockets usually drape differently on the body and help take away from a midsection… which is my trouble zone.

My favorite cocktail dress has pockets.  Maybe it’s a nerves thing, but it gives me something to do with my arms that isn’t crossing them.  AND  I don’t ever have to take in a purse, debit card and id?  In my POCKETS!  hehehe

Sorry!  I was just speaking generically about why I would want a dress with pockets.  …but I still can think of lots of small things that I might want to keep in the pockets of a wedding dress in particular — especially tissues, lipgloss, maybe an advil, some bobby pins, etc.  In general, the dresses that I have seen with pockets generally have the pockets really  nicely hidden at the seams.  You would never even know they were there unless you checked for them.  If it really bothers you that much though, you could always sew the pockets shut!

I totally have pockets in some of my sun dresses, and I LOVE them! I find I end up stashing bobby pins, lip gloss or other random little things in them when I’m on the go.

I really like wearing them out to places I can’t bring my purse [like certain bars/clubs] then I have a good place for my ID/cash etc.

Though, that being said, some dresses just don’t have the space/shape for pockets.

I think on a casual dress, it might make sense for going out.  I personally would never use them because I’d be afraid of things falling out, since the pockets tend to be shallow.

Honestly I think pockets on wedding dresses are just weird.  I don’t get the fascination at all.
