I need Help Bees…. I have been with my fiance for almost 10years and now and we are finally getting married! Yesterday, I spent a long day touring our favorite picks for wedding venues and after all the price breakdowns I just cant bring myself to ask my parents to pay that kind of money. They are at the retiring age and it is not practical to have our entire family out for a wedding that in reality they cant afford. I think I am leaning towards a courthouse wedding and a very intimate reception at my home for only my immediate family and closest friends.
However, this is were I need your help. I want to get married in a courthouse with beautiful wood all around and be married by a real justice of the peace (like Carrie and Big in Sex in the City or Jennifer Lopez in the wedding planner). Does that not exist in SoCal? Is that only in movies? Anyone with any information or suggestions please, I could use all the help I can get.

Not that I’m aware of. My friends that have gotten married at the hall of records in Norwalk have said that you can either do it at the bullet-proof glass window or in a little room that is anything but pretty. Sorry!
My daughter is getting married in San Pedro at the Cabrillo Beach Bathhouse. It’s only $600 for the venue and you can get married on the lawn next to the beach. Very pretty. We’re using Stonefire Grill (about $15 per person) and their bartenders (from $5 to $15 per person depending what you want). A D.J. for $400. There is also a place in Whittier that will do everything for you for about $5000 for 100 people. I can give you all the links if you want to message me.
