We’re having a Strolling Reception with mini-entree stations for our guests to enjoy. We picked this because we wanted a relaxed atmosphere, no assigned seating. We are planning on having 8, 60 in. tables for family and older relatives, several pub tables, a couple 2 toppers and 4 toppers. We were aiming for a loungey type of atmosphere.
Because of this we decided to do some soft seating. Soft seating is expensive. Our caterer (because I used him for a work related event), gave us an additional $10/person credit to use as we wish. We’re putting this toward the soft seating.
With the additional $1250, we can rent a pod of soft seating. So that’s 3 of these benches and 4 light up cubes. Caterer called today and was able to get the one pod setup for that price. The next plan is I will receive a mock-up sketch of the room with tables and the soft seating. Im’ assuming the 3 benches will be around the 4 cubes (acting as a coffee table) and since it’s only 1 pod, he will have to put it in a place that makes sense.
In talking with Fiance upon hearing the news, he was kind of disappointed that we weren’t able to get two pods. On the flip-side, I was thrilled that we could afford one. Because I still think they will fit it in and it will look cool.
Our colors are orange and aubergine. With orange uplighting around the room and in most of the flowers, I thought the aubergine bench would rock.
Here are photos of the benches (we’ll have 3):
Here are the cubes (4 of them)
What do you think? I’d be okay with one pod but Fiance thinks two would be better (of course it would) but I don’t have an additional $1250 just sitting around for this.
