…My Maid/Matron of Honor just mentioned sending E-vites for the shower and bachelorette party. Umm…how terrible is it if I kinda request/tell her that I’d be slightly mortified by that? Maybe not for the bach. party, but definitely the shower…

I was invited to a bridal shower by e-vite and it didn’t faze me at all. I guess it just depends on your guests… if you want your Maid/Matron of Honor to send paper invites, maybe just mention that you have some older relatives who aren’t so good with technology?

I guess it depends on what you’re planning. In my area bridal showers are usually pretty informal and just held in someones house so getting an e-vite wouldn’t upset me one bit. But if you’re having a more formal affair than I could see you not wanting that. If it really bothers you I might mention something to the Maid/Matron of Honor.

My sis/MOH used Paperless Post, and they were awesome! But it was definitely a less formal event. To give a little context, I also sent out Save-The-Date Cards via Paperless Post and we’re planning on doing an online RSVP.

Is she using e-vite or paperlesspost? Paperlesspost.com actually has REALLY cute e-invitations.
I would definately prefer paper invitations (I LOVE getting mail that isn’t a bill!) BUT, I don’t know that I’d ask my Maid/Matron of Honor to send paper, I’d feel bad. (Luckily, I know an e-vite isn’t in the cards, she is already excited about picking out the shower invites. 🙂 )

I would prefer having an evite over a paper invite. Just another thing to throw away (no offense). I don’t understand why you would be mortified. She’s being green. LOL

i don’t think i would be mortified, but i understand the appeal of paper invites (as well as the appeal of getting mail…its one of my favorite things).

Definitely depends on the formality. I wouldn’t mind, but I would also expect a more casual shower.

I actually prefer e-vites, good for the trees!

honestly, i don’t think there’s anything wrong with e-vites from a tacky standpoint, however it’s not quite as special as having a paper invite you can save. i am obsessed with posterity and kept all the invitations from my showers and bach party, i have them in a box with my other wedding memorabilia. i love it 🙂 i suppose you could just print the email but that’s not very pretty lol
