Has anybody seen or heard of a soil ceremony done at a wedding instead of the candles or sand?
I know can involve a potted tree. We can’t plant a tree since both our ceremony and reception are in a garden at an inn. I thought this would be a nice alternative to incorporate our love for being green, mother earth, nature and the environment.

@jeffloveschrissy: We are taking soil from each of our hometowns and are going to combine it into a clear glass vase or pot and then plant a Jade plant (instead of a tree). This way we can take the slow growing, hearty Jade home and watch it grow along with our marriage. If you plant a tree and you move or whatever you can’t really take the tree with you. I like this idea better!
