I bought my dress brand new with tags from a private owner off of tradesy.  It arrived in a large box with the dress still in the clear plastic wrap inside of the zipper hanging case thing. For extra protection, I would wrap the dress in bubble wrap.  I didn’t have bubble wrap but the dress still came in perfect condition.

I did not have to sign mine but the ups hid the box out of sight and left a note on my door on where to find it. In my case, I am glad I didn’t have to sign for it because I work in a different town and would never be home to sign for it.  I would get insurance on it just in case anything happens to the box.

They sell shipping boxes at any post office. Depending on what the dress is like, I would buy a Canada Post large box, neatly fold it in, then just send it as an expidited parcel. You can calculated the cost here

I sold a dress on Tradesy.  I sent it UPS signature required as I wanted to make sure the person who was supposed to get it got it and not that it just arrived at its destination.  I kept it in its hanging case and wrapped it up in bubble wrap to prevent against any water damage.  Make sure the box is big enough so you are not stuffing the dress in the box.  The box I had was big enough so that I only had to fold the dress bag in half.  The train on the gown was folded back onto the dress so the dress itself was folded into thirds if that makes sense to you.

As for turning the dress inside out, it depends.  My dress had a lot of beadings and delicate lace that it would have snagged way to easily If it was turned inside out. The box was plenty big for the dress to have ample room.  I do suggest insurance and short term shipping if possible so less days to be anxious about the arrival.  My dress arrived in 3 days from the East coast to the West coast.

Mrs.Z.:  I sold my gown that I had bought for a previous engagement on Tradesy. I went to the UPS store and they helped me pack and ship it. I left it in its garment bag and I believe they had bubble wrap around it. They also put it in a smaller box, then placed that inside a larger box with packing peanuts around it. Thankfully, they did all the work for me. It was signature required and it got to the buyer in great shape in less than a week.
