Hey Bees –
If you were in this situation, what would you do?
My now-husband picked out a beautiful princess solitaire for my engagement ring. I had always been enamoured with the solitaire + eternity band look so right after we got engaged, I purchased an eternity band for my wedding band. Looking back, if I was smart, I would have first purchased a cz eternity band to wear around to see if I liked it.
We’ve been married almost 8 months and I cannot get used to wearing the eternity band, plus, because it is shared prong, my solitaire is totally scratched up. The diamond girdles have not dug into my prongs, but the entire shank of the e-ring feels rough. I made a complete mistake getting an eternity band (my personal experience – not dissing anyone that has eternity bands).
I feel guilty that this is the ring I was married with so I’m trying to find some alternatives.
My first option would be to solder the rings together and it would stop the scratching and the spinning, but it still may not be comfortable.
My second option would be to get a thin 1mm spacer to stop the scratching, but I don’t think it would make it any more comfortable.
My third option is to just get a new band that it’s full eternity nor have exposed girdles. I usually wear both my e-ring and wedding band together. If I get a new ring I would just wear the eternity band once in a while, which does seem like a waste.
Any other suggestions?
