I will try to keep this short, as just thinking about all this brings me to tears.
2 days ago I was diagnosed with PCOS. My right ovary has more folicales than normal, while my left was is pretty normal.
I do ovulate on my own, but pretty late, anywhere from cd 20-30.
I had a HSG done 2 days ago, on CD 12. The dr said I can start round 1 of clomid after this cycle.
DH and I would still like to give it one last try on our own this cycle.
My question is, since I had an xray done during the HSG, is it safe to try this cycle. Would the radiation have affected any possible eggs?
Any advise is appreciated

@mrscandyv: While I cannot say yay or nay about the xray bit, I thought I’d come in and offer some advice about PCOS.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2008 and had very unreliable cycles and was very infertile. I had one ectopic pregnancy and one miscarriage among at least 2 years of nothing.
I tried metformin, timing my cycles, charting etc etc and was thinking of moving onto clomid or something similar when I discovered an incredible way to basically reverse PCOS naturally.
PCOS is a type of insulin resistance in your body that affects your fertility and causes a lot of side effects. The way to cure/help insulin resistance is very similar to the way a diabetic would treat their diabetes. I stopped eating gluten and most carbs, stuck to natural foods, exercised regularly and within a month, my cycle was normal for the first time in my life and within 6 months I had conceived completely naturally.
Just thought I’d share my success with you, good luck in your journey, whatever it is you do.

@quierajen: Thanks for the quick reply. I am actually quite upset as this was never seen before. I had a m/c in june and the DR that i was seeing was a complete fool to say the least. I recently was blessed to be taken by a specialist who diagnosed me right away after seeing my ultrasound. my blood tests have always been normal- no hormone imbalance- so i can see why it went undected for so long.
I have done quite a bit of reading on PCOS the last few days, and have already began to take this into my own hands as naturally as i can. Started to workout and eat right again- i usually do this but have had a pitty party for mysel after the misscarriage.
Both days of working out were hard- jsut emotionally i am angry. its like what else can life throw at me. I’m still not over the misscarriage, and adding pcos to the mix has litterally sent me over the edge.

I also have no advice about the Xray- sorry.
I did want to chime in about the PCOS though, because I know how heartbreaking it feels. I have secondary infertility due to PCOS as well as endo.
I started my mission to healing with better nutrition (whole foods) and regular exercise about two years ago and have seen a vast difference in my cycles since then. Stick with it & you will see changes!
Additionally, I am about to begin taking low doses of nacent iodine. A quick google search and you can read other experiences with this, but I’ve read several testimonies of women shrinking their cysts and restoring their fertility with nascent iodine.
Of course, you should consult your DR before doing anything. I just wanted to toss this your way as something to discuss with them! 🙂
