How will you be getting to NYC?  Train?  Since you’ll only be here for a “few” hours, where you’re coming into will have an impact.

Although this won’t do anything for your bridal diet, when you get to Philly you should do the Cheesesteak War! Geno’s vs. Pat’s. I know there are plenty of other places with great cheesesteaks in Philly but those two places are right next to each other…

Oh man, I am getting hungry!

Have fun!!

Oh, I’d love to help out with some Philly advice — especially great places to eat!  Feel free to ask specific questions in this thread or PM me!

Oh okay, that’s enough time to have some fun in the city!  If you’re getting here by train, then you’ll come into Penn Station.  If you want to do the whole Times Square/Central Park/Rockefeller Center thing, it’s all a pretty quick walking distance from there.

I would just recommend for dinner/drinks/going out, definitely go downtown: East Village, Lower East Side, etc.  Check yelp.com for ideas, and feel free to PM me if you would like any specific recommendations.

Have fun!

Where will you be staying in the city?  My favorite area — with lots of great restaurants — is Old City.  Happy to divulge the best restaurants there if you’re staying in that area or want to go exploring!

My favorite place in Old City is Eulogy. I have a special love of Belgian beer and the fritjes are wonderful.

If you want something that’s really Philly, go to South Philly/ Italian market and go to Ralph’s or Donte & Luigi’s.
