Bees.. i’m not even sure WHERE to start. First of all, i’d like to say how mad I am at our previous jeweler. After 6 months of ‘working’ with him, we have no ring and not even a CAD drawing, or sketch on paper to show for it! He did make a CAD drawing and email it to me, but it wasn’t even the right ring!!! Sadly, I’m DONE with him. But we have been way too patient and kind and have gotten nothing but excuses from him. We went to a different jeweler and that didn’t work out either. WHY is it so hard to find a jeweler who wants to make this ring? It’s not THAT complicated of a design. Halo, split shank, milgrain detail!
So on to the next issue, SO and I are frustrated and go back to the very original split shank halo I ever fell in love with .. at Jared’s. I put it on (as far ‘on’ as i could get on my long/big fingers) and I love it. Has all of the bells and whistles i’m looking for. SO says he loves it, wants THIS to be my ring, and whips out his debit card and orders it. It takes 6-8 weeks to come in, then they’ll set it with our 1ct round centerstone and then SO will propose whenever..
BUT- now that I don’t have it on, i’m still thinking about and wanting that design i’ve had in my head for well over 6 months. I think i’m just having some sort of shock or something. I just don’t want to regret it once it’s on my finger, and always wish I would’ve kept trying for a custom jeweler who could’ve done it, for less than what we’re paying for (which is basically the Neil Lane name) and less of a ring. NOT to sound ungrateful, but the ring we were designer was a little wider in the halo(mm wise), and covered more of my finger, so for lack of a better word, the one that has been ordered is ‘smaller’ than what we’ve been planning on. Okay i’ll stop rambling for now and post a picture…
Has anyone else had their heart SET on a ring and it changed ?
