Ohhh, that sucks! I dont understand how places can make such huge mistakes! But it sounds like — if it’s not too inconvenient for your guests– that you’re getting a pretty sweet deal for you in the end!

I hope they accept your counter! And well done for not just taking what they offered you.

Wait…you had a contract…and it’s costing you AND guests money to change flights, etc…right? How is a welcome gift going to make up for that? I would be FURIOUS.

@jaia07:  wow you are super calm about this. I would have FLIPPED if they did this at the reosrt we booked for our destination wedding. I hope they give you much much more then just a welcome gift

@jaia07:  “I have insider info that it wasn’t actually a mistake at all.  A massive group bought out the entire resort for that week for a ton of money, and they’re more important than me.

If you have proof of that info, I’d fscking sue and find somewhere else.  This just ENRAGES me!

@jaia07:  LOVE that you are being so positive about this! I would probably get really mad and then be kinda of excited about the sweet deals you got and the awesome upgrades!! Seems pretty cool to me and the awesome room will make your wedding extra special 🙂 and you save a ton of money!…hopefully not too inconvenient for the guests..but if you can get them to give something to the guests in your counter like you asked that will hopefully make some guests happy

@jaia07:  Dont sue. I agree with you too much of a headache. Make them accomodate your requests and tell them that you know why they are screwing you over that will make them more likely to accomodate you. Mexico laws are so different from the united states do not jump into that battle over a day that is supposed to be one of the most joyous days of your life. I would ask for them to do more than they are doing. Honestly I would ask for discounts, upgrades, free crap, etc.
