I have 6 bridesmaids who are all buying their dresses on their own. Because of this, we decided to keep the dresses under $100. This is the dress we chose, for around $80.
I spoke to customer service about this dress off and on, making sure there would be enough for all of bridesmaids to get them and whatnot. There were plenty, and they had months. Yet only three of my bridesmaids bought it before it went completely out of stock and is no longer even listed on the store’s website. It is discontinued.
Now I’m stuck with one bridesmaid and a maid and matron of honor who don’t have a dress to wear to my wedding, and I have no idea what to dress them in.
Does anyone have ANY advice on what to do? I’m going nuts and it’s put such a damper on my mood when it comes to the wedding.

@frommisstomrs.: Off with their heads! Ha ha. No. This is really disappointing. Can you get similar style dresses in the same color? If not, can you get this same style dress in a coordinating color? I’m not sure what your vision is but if they offer this lovely blue and a darker shade, it might look nice togther. Then I’d arrange my BMs to make it look planned.
I’m kind of ticked at your ladies. They should have taken care of this pronto. Jerks!

@LilRhodyGem: The dress was only available in that color, but I have been on the lookout for similar styles and shades, or even just complimenting colors of similar style dresses, but I havent had much luck. I’m very ticked with them, too! Haha. At least it was 3 out of 3, so that i can alternate them, right? Count your blessings! lol

@frommisstomrs.: Have you tried talking to customer service about it?

Does the website have other dresses in the same colour and fabric? Or can you find a similar fabric to have a seamstress make similar dresses?

@peachacid: Yes, and there’s nothing they can do sadly. 🙁 The dress was already an old style when we decided on it.
@pixiecat: They don’t right now, but I’m hoping that’s because it’s a springy/summery color and fal just hit.. I hope. lol

@frommisstomrs.: Well if I were you, I’d slap my bridesmaids for being damn slow pokes. And since it doesn’t sound like you want to kick those girls out, I would find a similar dress in a smiliar color or another color that you have in your wedding. I am not sure how easy it will be to find something with the flowers on the bottom, but hopefully you will run across something.

I’m guessing that’s a dress from Modcloth – they sell out very quickly.
Since you won’t be able to get the exact same dress for the remaining three bridesmaids, I’d choose something with similar elements (sleeveless, some ruffles at the bottom) in a complementary color. I wouldn’t try and match the color because it’ll probably be very difficult, so I think I’d go with an obviously different shade of blue, or a different color you’re using.

google image search it, and find similar dresses??

Would this look horrible together? I have pale blue/pink/yellow color palette.

Check into how much it would cost to have a local seamstress make it for them? Even if you decided on a different color fabric if you couldn’t find that one at least then it’d be the same style.

That’s terrible. I can’t believe that they were so lazy and last minute that this happened.

I’d be inclined to not let them be in the wedding. HA!
Can the purchased dresses be returned? Maybe just do that and find a new on.. if they can’t be returned I’d probably make the slackers purchase new dresses for themselves and for the girls who already bought the other dress.
Unfortunately the dress you picked is pretty unique- so I’d imagine it being pretty hard to find something ‘similar’

@frommisstomrs.: I think that would go really nicely, because they have the similar neckline. Especially since it’s half and half, it should work out fine 🙂
